Also as Mark stated, flushing and replacing the brake fluid is important.
I would inspect the brakes, change hoses ( optional) , bleed wheel cylinders & completely replace all the brake fluid. If you have a manual transmission also bleed the clutch slave as it uses the same brake fluid in the master cylinder. Stop Tech Braided Stainless brake hose available at Amazon : part # front 950.35001 rear 950.35500

In the kit, it has an adapter that fits the master cylinder. I have used this for years and find that it works well and my wife is not coming out to the garage so this is just as good.
I will state that I have a Quick Jack that makes it easy as I remove all four wheels and then I can move from corner to corner easier.
And as others have said it's worth replacing the brake lines with SS lines. https://www.buybrakes.com/2003-merce...brake-line-kit
