Default Eaibach spring installation...

I just ordered the pro-kit. Has anyone experienced any difficulties in the installation? I read somewhere on here that a spring compressor was not even needed? Could someone give me a quick walkthrough? Luckily I have access to a lift and have some technician buddies to help me.

here you go. HTH... https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ead.php?t=9469

i didn't use a spring compressor, and only have access to floor jacks and horses. ALSO, did not follow any of the service manual's directions for removing and reinstalling the spring.

FRONTS: took off the upper control arm through-bolt (accessible through the engine compartment) and rotated the entire assembly forward to remove the spring (see pic in other thread).

REARS: took the control arm bolt off (rotor side, as opposed to frame-side like is mentioned in the manual.

good luck.

You can do this installation yourself, just be careful. The rear springs are easy. The front require a little brute strength and some careful pry bar action.
I don't know where you can find a spring compressor small enough for these springs.
Removing the long bolt from the upper control arm is the best way to go because you don't want to mess with the ball joint if you don't have to.
Be sure to pull out the spring pads and seat the new spring properly into them.
GOOD LUCK!
The results are worth the effort. The ride is GREAT! Not harsh or too stiff. IMO the Eibach Pro Kit rides and looks PERFECT! This is THE modification this car needs.

No spring compressor needed. Remember to line up the spring pads to the top of the springs.
Good luck and have fun.

Hi guys, im new to the forum... well i've been here for a while but have not posted, just re-search.. well i just got my eibach springs in the mail today as well. When i lowered my C-class i had to go through a few different sets of spring pads to achieve the perfect drop. Does anyone know what size pads come on the crossfire, front and rear?? Or is it like the mercedes where it seems like every car has different pads. On the C-class people reported tons of different pad combinations, even cars that were exact same models and options. Which # pad works/looks best?

Damm, your ride looks sick with that drop. Do you remember what size pads you have? The spacers really make a huge difference too. I may have to add some of those. How much did you pay for the spacers? The whole spring pad thing sux, i wish they would at least all come with the same size... because if you install springs just to find out that you need different pads you have to do the same amount of work all over again just to replace a pad.

h&r trak+ spacers...part # 2455665 and #2055665. the bolts are 1/2" longer than stock and are supplied through h&r as well.

thanks for pointing that out andrew.

yeah the color is slightly off if its in certain angles of direct sunlight. what's weird is that its mismatched to the fender, but no matter what angle you look at it, its NOT mismatched to the hood. i'm still happy with it; i just try and avoid those certain angles.
