Detail Doctor any one tried this
Re: Detail Doctor any one tried this
This product appears to me to be just another version of "Wipenew" also advertized on the T.V.
I used WipeNew on the considerable expanse of plastic on the wifes Chevy Avalanche which was faded due to the Houston sun. I was very suprised to find it worked great, just as advertized. I was a bit suprised when I recieved my WipeNew in the Mial, as the bottle was extemely small, but after applying to the the supplied applicator pad, it went a Lo>>>>>>ng way. I did all the plastic surfaces, and only used about half the bottle. I would recommend it. It is also suposed to restore headlights, but not tried that yet, as i have no faded headlights to restore.
Re: Detail Doctor any one tried this
I saw the Detail Doctor commercial on TV just yesterday. Looked identical to Wipe New that's been advertised for several months. I'm somewhat skeptical of a product that seems to be able to address a multitude of applications (i.e., body cladding, faded black trim, interior trim, headlight clarity restoration, etc.). Looks like it has promise as a product for exterior trim/cladding. But the pictures of interior trim use seems to leave the surface "shiny". Not exactly my "cup of tea". Hopefully, others (like TerryR) will chime in on successful uses of either/both products.

Re: Detail Doctor any one tried this
Years ago I had a 25ft Catalina sailboat that I was trying to sell, but over time the gel coat had begun to oxidize, leaving a surface finish that was OK, but sort of dull. I tried a few "snake oil" things that promised rene.wal of the gel coat finish, but what really seemed to work well for me, was Johnson's Clear floor polish. It wasn't perfect but looked great, and lasted long enuff, that I got extra $$$ from the sale. I'm not suggesting anyone use this, (if you do its at your risk), but it is an example of what modern chemistry can hide "temporarily". Emphasis on "temporarily". UV degradation is permanent, and can only be hidden. As far as I'm concerned, these products can promise everthing that WE want to hear, but come up short in most cases. Have fun .......
