Day time running lights - terrible low beams

Default Day time running lights - terrible low beams

Had one OEM low beam light go out so I replaced both with Silverstar Ultra. Now the low beams are no better than day time running lights? I bouth OEM loq beams and replaced them again - no change. The high beams are unchanged and OK. The car is not safe driving after dark.. ??

I'd confidently say the bulbs are not seated properly if they were OK before. It is a common problem when replacing bulbs in the headlights. Do a search, there are plenty of them giving the correct procedure.

I suggest moving to a Morimoto HID kit from theretrofitsource.com.

+1 I concur. I used the same Silverstar Ultras and they are a vast improvement to the OEM bulbs (although they seem to burn out more quickly) Make sure youre wearing gloves to protect the bulbs from fingerprints)

Not so much the prints but the oils on your skin, I keep a clean pair of cotton gloves handy for any bulb replacement work.

I automatically replace low beams or the whole thing with Silverstars and have since the turn of the century. I have yet to have one burn out but then I do not drive any car much and few at night (and now that we are past the solistice the days are getting longer, don't like dark by 6). Those in the frozen north have it worse.

Did find it very easy to put the bulb in the XF .cocked which destroys the pattern which seems a bit narrow even when right.

ps been running halogens since 1964 when my dad brought a pair back from France for me. Now I don't remember if Cibie's or Marchals. Used to love to drive late at night on deserted back Florida TLBs just lighting up the world.

they arent seated properly, but i do recommend HIDS i actually sell them and can give you guys a group deal if you guys are interested

Even with clean hands the fingerprints are made from the secretions from the skin. So you really can't have one without the other.
