What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Took my 2nd decent road trip to ATL in the crossfire this past weekend. Drove like a dream (especially in that ATL traffic). Im getting used to the blind spot. I adjusted my mirrors in away where once it disappears in one mirror i can usually see it in the other.
Prior to that, I restored the headlights using a kit suggested on the boards. Worked great!

Here's the kit I used:
Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit: Automotive : Walmart.com
it was about $25 in-store. It was my 1st time doing it so I can say that its relatively easy to do and only took about 30 minutes for both lights. A drill is required for the polishing/applicator pad.
Had my first road trip down to SoCal. Handled like a dream. Coming back, pretty much alone along a stretch in the desert, I thought I'd air it out a little and see how it would do. Whoa! From 80 to 110 in seconds. It still had way more to give and I couldn't believe how steady it handled. I've had three Corvettes and an RX7 and none of them came close to handling like the Crossfire did.
I signed the buyers order on a sweet 2005. I cured the power seat and sticky key...Hit some rural roads and shot trough the 6 sp, runs like a champ. If I can figure out the fuse switch issue for the AC and fan behind the dash, I'm a happy shirnk
Weather is suppose to be nice today, so we're getting the XFire out for a "day trip". Planning on a short 1-1/2 hour drive to a winery located in Georgia mountains near Clayton. Winery is having a St. Pat's event with food (Irish sliders, whatever that means) & drink (wine, of course) for $15 per head at door. Taking some back roads up to winery so we can enjoy the XFire.
Added thumbnails after returning home this afternoon. Winery is really nice & the wine is very good!

I painted the "River of Silver.

"night Shades" over the silver. Didn't like it.
So, I had the remains of a can of Duplicolor "Dark Charcoal Metallic" in the cave and decided to use it. Applied it when the NS was still tacky and loved the metallic over the black background. 3 coats of that and 3 of semi-gloss clear.

Like I've said.. once you get past the "Must stay silver".. you'll hardly notice afterwards..

That "River of Silver" doesn't look too bad in a $200,00.00 Mercedes.

Sunny and 60 degrees = An hour plus drive. Not to much salt on the roads I took but, the amount of sand is ridiculous. I got home and there was a nice layer of dust on the car so I dusted her off and then sprayed her with some spray detailer. Dressed the tires, dusted the brake dust off the wheels and tucked her back in because tomorrow, more snow and sleet.

And I'm much happier with it this way.
I just found out the SLS had the "Puddle of Silver" the other day.
Personally, all that "shiny silver plastic" (only the 04's had) never bothered me, especially with the cedar/slate interior. But then that's just me. I know a lot of people think it looks cheap. I think it just brightens the interior up.
Parked it outside, saw the snowy forecast, pulled it back in. Although I did have a chance to spank the pants off a turbo Genesis, guess that equals out.
I almost sold my car this weekend, and the price was right, but the guy's wife wanted a BMW ,, so his toy will never be.
Most of you know what my wife said to me when i was wanting to put the V8 into my crossfire,,
she said" you want it do it." and guess what ? I did and never looked back.
the only reason I would sell it is to build another with a 6.3 twin turbo into a crossfire. jim
Don't ask!

So did that "cabin fever" break and "for sale" leave your mind!?
U like me have to many things going on to sell, it is like medicine we are just ready for a brakethrough LOL U know what i mean. jim
