What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Xfire #3-SSB SRT6-What Severe Flood Damage?? - Changed all plugs, found a boot off, Drained coolant n flushed, refilled, Replaced air filters(bone dry) , Drained and replaced (semi-milky) oil , new filter, washed engine bay, refreshed all hoses, repaired a crack in bolster mounts, discovered intermittent air conditioning issue. This place is beginning to look like a Chrysler Deralershi with 3 Xfires..LOL...peace yall
The milky oil is a really good hint that water has been mixed with the engine oil. This leads to severe wear on the moving parts and possible rust on the stationary steel parts. That engine would be stripped down if it was mine?
Emulsified oil is an engine killer.
Tear down WOULD be the recommended course of action, but I have been told by some of our local farmers/ranchers that have had water damage that they just drain all the oil, put a new filter on and fill it up with kerosene.
Run it until it comes up to temp ( smokes like a b*tch ), drain it again, another new filter, kerosene again until up to temp, then drain, filter and new oil. 'They' say it's good as new again.
Not saying to do this, it's just what I've heard around the cracker barrel at the local farmers exchange.
NOTE: if you have milky oil, better have a look at the transmission and differential too .....

Bought it on Friday, Replaced plugs, valve cover gaskets, oil/filter, Attempting to get rid of ciggy smoke smell. conditioned the leather, getting ready to swap out wheels and tires, spent many hours trying to buy rims on line. thought it best I go to a tire dealer and let them do the figuring, I got a real nice combo ordered through my local bell tire. EBC rotors, yellow stuff pads, KYB gas-adjust H&R sport springs. Can't believe such a nice car for so little money....or should I keep that a secret, Going to look at another today.

Waxed and polished the (salvage yard)SSB SRT , worked leather stuff into the leather seats, drove it a bit. Thinking bout selling the black SRT and keeping the SSB SRT, I'll let yall know here first when its ready.
Photos and explanation of "salvage yard SSB SRT" please . . .

I had two potential buyers back out of thier firm offers on my car only due to what I had paid for it which the previous owner was surprisingly aggressively eager to share. No problems with the car. I would have paid more, it was worth it, but that was all the PO wanted.
So yes, keep the price to yourself.
With a good price paid it allows you a margin for those add ons or repairs while still keeping your find within its value range. Cigarette smell can be a challenge. I have never found a way to get rid of it. The local MINI dealer claims to have and sure cleared it out of one stinkie car I considered but he would not share the secret.

Finally replaced the original Varta battery in anticipation of winter. Stainless steel brakelines and flush lines and new brake fluid next.

Hope you have a great time. Unfortunately, I don't have any "Stats" from 1/8 mile tracks for you to compare.
I think Gary "Valk" has some of your mods on his automatic NA car, and I'm pretty sure he ran a 14.7 sec. 1/4 mile. I bet he still has his time slips and they should have his 1/8 mile stats. Maybe he can chime in.

I took the Ghost out for a spin today, enjoyed the scenery and planned for some winter projects. One that we all might consider is flushing and purging the brake lines when it gets cold. This should help
with the sponginess that many feel when it's warm. Also planned on an improvement to the looks of the interior. I sure hope that this winter is not too harsh.

It's so much better than stock, very pleased with it.
Replaced cabin air filter and cleaned out minimum leaves from that area on the (salvage yard) SSB SRT. A "rescue" car I rescued last week. Pulled the front wheels off and removed years of brake dust and black mud. Someone recommended "BarKeepers Friend" for its alkalinity properties, I used a product I found laying around called "CameO" for stainless. It is a powder you shake onto a wet rag. Worked great.
was about tom order an oil catch can from Sumitt Raceing but not legal in California does anyone have one installed and still pass smog check. ???
