I thought i had attached with the post, here is the damage
Might not be for you, BUT... Have you thought of just treating/covering the metal and then just moving the door guards up some (matching left and right)? All you'll see then is some slight discoloration down where the door guard was moved up. A lot less cost and just as effective, IMHO.
Ordered some suede door pull covers from Redline Goods today. Went with their faux-alcantara suede, single tone, silver stitching. I wanted them to look as OEM as possible. I went with the faux-suede over the real alcantara suede because it's a lighter shade of black like that of the SRT-6 seats. Not to mention they were cheaper and will probably hold up better than the real suede ones in the long run.
sounds like a cool job, yep great racket, enjoy.
I pulled the silver edge guards off of the doors and the one that I damaged is damaged almost all the way down, oh well at least it is contained to just one door.
life goes on, i'll work it out as we all do

As for the detailing part of things..... yeah, I work for Meguiar's and my title is "Senior Global Product & Training Specialist". I've had the great pleasure to help train some of the top detailers from around the world - guys who have prepped cars that have won Ridler Awards, Best of Show at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Villa d'Este and others. Pretty cool job that lets me meet a lot of great people and work on some pretty amazing cars.... and they pay me to do it!!! What a racket, huh?!?!?
Running my car in the 11th Michigan Mille. We have approx 50 cars traveling thorough Mich, Ohio, KY & IN over five days. Maserati is one of the sponsors this year, and there are two running in the group.
Here's a shot from lunch in Bowling Green. 92 steamy degrees.
Cleaned and waxed the rescue SRT after a flawless 600 plus mile trip to Atlanta area and back. She really likes to jump up to three digits when passing, (grin factor). Loved the backroads ride from Bartow, Ga. to Hapeville, Ga. Certainly different than these flatlands here in Florida. Peace.

i was talking to a guy that does a lot of hot rod paint locally, he asked me the same thing.
i had pulled the silver guards off last week and the entire door edge is trashed on the drivers side door edge 9i had a hunch)
anyway this guy asks me if i had considered a thinner (i/4") shinny black or flat black trim.
he said that the silver is tough to blend in, especially on the edge.
i'm going to talk to 5 other shops on a list i have put together, and see what everyone has to say about it
Reinstalled the windshield surround today, after having resprayed to be color matched. I utilized my gas cap cover as a color swatch. Even though is a dead match to the gas cap under 5k lighting, once installed it appears to have a slight difference, depending on the angle viewed from. I think is missing a little magenta personally. Maybe a redo, come winter.
Got the SRT out yesterday and cleaned it. Spent some extra time getting the wheels cleaned up. Drove it to work today and the odometer turned over 20k on the way in.

Yeah but the roadster is pushing 70k. That is my wife's car and she just retired so the mileage accumulation should slow down on that one now. I just wish they were both SRTs.
I received my new faux-alcantara suede door pull covers from Redline Goods today. In case anyone is wondering why I went with the faux-suede over the real suede, the faux-suede is a lighter shade of black that's a much closer match to the suede on my seats. Not to mention they were considerably cheaper than the real suede ones and they'll likely hold up better in the long run. I ordered them with silver stitching so they match my seats perfectly. They practically look OEM which is awesome.

Then a Needswings CAI with Mercedes engine cover which I got off eBay and did the trimmings to accommodate the hose.
Also installed the 74 mm throttle body. I now need to take the time to download the software from eurocharged and get the tune taken care of.
Yes the hazed headlight has been taken care of too lol.. Figured I should mention that as I'm sure someone would have mentioned that lol.
And engine is in need of some detailing...
