I know of a past Forum member who had his car up on jack stands all around to clean & polish wheels. He wanted to be able to have the car out of gear so he could rotate the tires individually. But when he lowered the car off the jack stands, he forgot the car was out of gear. When the last wheel made contact with his driveway, the car rolled down the inclined driveway & ended up in a treeline across the street.
- This radio is recommended by Pizzaguy (Our communications expert) This will ensure good communication when leading / driving in groups at the many Crossfire events I attend regularly every year I mounted the bracket to the bulkhead wall with Velcro resting against the top of the bracket holding my windscreen
The radio slides out from the bracket to see the face to adjust volume or change channels etc. Plugs into the lighter for power so no more low batteries to be concerned with
The speaker faces out at head level to hopefully avoid needing and external speaker when my top is open. Heading down to the "Tail of the Dragon" in North Carolina in 4 days to join 90 more Crossfires for the 25th Anniversary Crossfire Dragon GTG Order one
Installed the missing or for whatever reason wasn't put on our cars, wiper arm grommet. Always wondered why the grommet and wiper nut weren't put on just the drivers side wiper? Was it the opposite for the RHD. Curious

Heard about the 'cover' but the nut? Who bought a new car without the WW nut installed? Sounds like only a used car purchase that an owner didn't put nut back on WW.

Last night a limb fell out of a tree that is over our back driveway and landed on the hood of our SRT coupe. Made a couple pretty good dents in the hood and mashed the top of the pass fender. There is a fitted cover under the cover you see. The top cover keeps the bird #$&# off the fitted cover. Yes it is insured, we have full comp. Taking it in for est tomorrow.
Insurance update on my claim.......
GEICO sent me to their area collision repair where I left the car for estimate and repair. Today I was told their area rep coming to see my car in next 24 hours and make assessment.....the repair estimate is above $3,100 and will be considered for “being totaled”.
other than the damage on the door, the car is in mint condition. What should my strategy be.....what are my options ?? I have $500 deductible.
Take the money, buy it back from the insurance company should be scrap price, find a hood and fender and any other body parts you need from car_parts.com or any national parts locating service ( negotiate prices you may be able to get the same color as your car ) put the parts on yourself . You will have a salvage title but you'll have your car. I did the same thing on a olds aurora.
Way back when, a Forum member told me a little trick to keep that "loose fitting" cap over the wiper arm mounting nut more secure. Cut a piece of electrical tape maybe 1/2" long. Take that piece & split it down the middle along the length. Then wrap one of the halves around the lower flange of the wiper arm cap. Tape doesn't have to go completely around the cap; just part of the way. That will create a snug enough fit when you insert the wiper arm cap. Mine have never come off after I did this.

Daimler Chrysler realized the design flaw with the alignment of the DS wiper arm drive shaft and the cowling of the Crossfire. Rather than fix the design flaw, they chose just to never install the grommet on the Driver-Side (my $0.02). Many of us have installed the grommet over there using a variety of methods.

Look for a used door and go from there, scrapping a car for that reason is asinine. Taking the money and buying the car back for nothing or close to it is the best deal, you can then fix it for less than a thou or so. Getting the door may be the trick but you have time.
Someone wants to make money on parts from your car by stripping it. I settled for my scrapped mustang by taking the money offered and parting out all of the exterior bolt on parts and trim. They were glad to settle and get the claim settled, that is what they want, a quick settlement, drag it out and you win more.
I don't know how may miles are on your car. That would make a difference on whether you want a "Salvage" brand on the car.
Here is a Graphite color driver side door in good shape for $300 plus $150 shipping. I would get that and swap it out. It likely would cost less than your insurance deductible.
I'd replace the door and go with Hagerty where you can set the replacement value of your car realisticly, unless it is a daily driver?
Hagerty also offers an optional insurance rider they call Cherish. This coverage allows you to collect the agreed upon value and keep the car if it is totalled. The premium for this is 15% of the collision and comprehension. I have 2 cars with Hagerty with this coverage.
