Do you have a link where to buy the rubber-isolators or a part number, or can you link to a thread about this? Thanks, Matt

Yes. Center isolator x 1: Chrysler: 5096549AA Mercedes: 1239870940 Side Isolators x 2: Chrysler: 50010196AA Mercedes: 1704920044
When it comes to the side isolators last I checked Mercedes had very few in stock in the US according to my local dealer but it is available through Chrysler. The center isolator I believe is no longer available through Chrysler. You can google both part numbers and see pictures of both parts and compare to your exhaust/muffler.

Thanks. You must have an SRT-6 as your "side isolator" is specific to the SLK 32 AMG. https://www.mercedespartscenter.com/...ust-components

Here's the same diagram for the SLK320: https://www.mercedespartscenter.com/...ust-components

It lists all the parts as being available. I have learned through experience that Mercedes is the best mass-market vehicle manufacturer bar none at supplying parts for their older vehicles. No one else comes close.

Thanks again, Matt

No it was the part number on my isolator all Crossfires have the AMG isolator and the SLK320 has a different one that starts with part number 124. My dealership said Mercedes only had 3 of the side isolators in the US and I bought 2 of them so maybe they imported more from Germany.

I finished off the rescue roadster today. Thought I had it all done earlier this week but it had no brake lights (how could I tell!) Replaced the Brake Light Switch and there was a leak in the Coolant Reservoir so I replaced it. Sold to a very happy camper!

Today I finished wiring my 360 camera system and did its first test. Now all that is left to do is calibrate the cameras so the birds eye view lines up correctly. I was going to do it today but its starting to rain so ill have to do it another time. I reached out to the manufacturer of the system and sent them an ariel photo of my car. They are going to send me a new firmware file so car in the software matches. I also started taking measurements of the new steering wheel I want to install. I was going to use it for my other car but I think it will use it in this car so I can take advantage of the steering wheel buttons and paddle shifters. I need to machine an adapter that will allow the two different spline sizes to mesh together and finish making the controller to interface with the radio and instrument cluster. The wheel is the last thing I wanted to install on the interior (and maybe a real cup holder &#128517. After this, I can finally work on the cosmetics of the dash/center console and give it a proper paint job. Ill post a video of the cameras after they are calibrated (probably next weekend)

Got a new CPS installed
Got a strobe module connected to my recently repaired 3rd LED brake light
Got a Kenwood Stereo with Bluetooth installed
Cleaned the engine and engine bay
We had a tech weekend in Michigan instead since the Woodward Dream Cruise event parking for the Crossfires was closed off this year due to the Pandemic

Crossfire TodayThis week I took the ‘06 Roadster to another level. Some fine detailing to her.

First, with the tuxedo interior, this classy roadster had an obvious wear area on the steering wheel. Car had 59K on her. Well maintained but the steering wheel just needed attention. Bit the bullet and tried the matching vanilla paint offered for sale in Germany. Not cheap (50.+ dollars for a little bottle del’d).

1. Washed the area with Simple Green and Dawn soap. Used a clean old cotton T shirt for this. Rinsed with water and a clean micro fiber towel.

2. Once dry, shake the paint bottle well and using a clean sponge apply the paint using a blotting motion to the worn area. Let dry. I waited an hour or so and reapplied a 2nd coat. Ended up putting a 3rd coat on the rim and stitching the next day. I’m impressed. It’s a perfect match. Time will tell how well it stays on.

After 3 coats of this paint.

Then I tackled the exterior. Specifically I needed to know the condition of the brakes. She stopped OK. I just needed a warm and fuzzy of her condition. Pulled all 4 wheels and eyeballed rotors and pads. All good! Rears have 5/8” pad life and fronts are at a 1/4”. Since they were all off, I decided to clean all the wheel wells and scrub the backsides of all the rims. Night and day difference Don’tcha’ think? This was more of a cosmetic effort. Light coat if oil on the hubs and mating surface of the wheels.

I used Simple green, Dawn soap, a scrubbing brush and Brillo pads to clean years of brake dust, grease, tar built up. Found these wheels were manufactured in Poland.

A friend gave me a Kenwood Stereo for my Crossfire and it was installed a few days ago
NOTE: On a OEM Infinity stereo with NAV the antenna wire is the thicker wire that is attached to the pin jack opposite the power plug

Kenwood kdc bt945u

BELOW IS THE OEM INFINITY STEREO
RED circle is AM/FM Antenna
BLUE circle is the GPS Antennae

Changed the oil and finally installed the trim bezel for the double din

I wanted to make sure everything was working before I closed it up
It’s a really snug fit and I don’t want to mess around with it more than I need to.

Wow, that looks really great. If I DIDN'T remember how much work went into that project I'd suggest making a kit!

Well this weekend I finished my Luk clutch, replaced my gear oil, and got the tranny back up in my girl. Got all the bolts in but 3. It was a busy weekend. I have made a YouTube channel along the journey if you like to see all i did.
