So your story has a happy ending I have sent over a couple of Mickey Dees finest. Don’t worry about the expiration date, they need the business.

Thanks. They closed over an hour early just as I approached the drive-thru because the management team at that particular McDonald's really hates the customers and knows that we are only here to make her life easier. Just as well. I went across the street and got tacos at 'the Bell'.

As I left the house I noticed a front side-marker light was out. Turns out there was just enough corrosion (a slight white flaky residue on the electrical contacts) to keep the bulb from making contact. I cleaned it as best I could with some solvent & a brass brush and as the bulb was still the original one and slightly darkened I changed it. Every YOUTUBE video that stated what bulb to get was wrong. It led to me leaving the following YOUTUBE comment:

1:22 (RE your bulb recommendation) The original OE bulb from the factory has all this written on it... E1 2CA E33 W5W 12V
When you do a GOOGLE search (of all that) it returns a 2825 bulb which has a 5W consumption as both the owner's manual & the back of the plastic bulb housing specify. A 194 bulb (as you recommend) only draws 3.8W and might appear a little dim.

This is the BEST advice. I have seen so many members who sell their cars, come back months or years later. Don't ask me to mention member names, I barely remember the posts let alone the names. Good luck Ed, and maybe see you soon (again) with a new-to-you reacquisition!

hello ,
Nice build , if I were to go similar route with Mercedes covers , are they the actual valve cover ? Or a plastic cover ? And is the cold air intake ( blue tube) needswings product ?
Thank you. Mercedes covers can be taken from a salvage yard ?

My black roadster has been in the body shop, had the front bumper, hood, front fenders and drivers door repainted. They also color sanded and polished the entire car. Picked it up yesterday and it looks great.

Had a leak in a breather. Removed breather and reapplied RTV. Still leaked. Decided not to dig too deep.
went to the local pick and pull. Removed a perfect replacement right valve cover from an M series with same engine.

it’s now 200km later. No leak

$17.00
3 hours to clean and paint

No no matter how many times I sanded and painted the ashtray couldn't get it to look right. So I vinyl wrap the same as my door pulls.

Am I the only one?

Washed the Crossfire yesterday and dried it 98% of the way using a really lightweight leaf blower. It removes water from behind emblems and anywhere/everywhere water can normally hide. Also it allows me to dry the entire car while standing upright, something I appreciate more & more the older I get! Especially if you use a ceramic coating instead of wax the water simply "runs away from" the 150mph airstream. And BTW if you have not yet switched from wax to ceramic then you are really living in the past. It's superior in every way. Much, much longer lasting plus goes on & comes off so much easier. I use TheLastCoat.com.
Amazon Amazon
They include a coupon when you receive your order that you mail to the company and they "double your order" by mailing you another 8oz bottle. It works just as well as any other ceramic I've used but you get more and it costs less. "Ceramic" means SiO2 and chemistry is chemistry, so it doesn't make sense to pay more for the same thing. I had 7 college chemistry classes, so I shake my head and smile at people who pay more for expensive table salt.
