Today I did James1549's ground fix and ran another ground wire from the battery to the bell housing.
I also replaced the rear shocks. The front shocks should be here tomorrow.
I routed the new ground wire behind the heat shield and used a protective covering on it. After putting on the grommet I compressed the shock and used the shipping strap to hold it. Once I bolted it in I cut the strap and guided the shock into place.
I purchased a set of clear marker (led)lights and installed them. A nice upgrade to the Xfire. Purchased from Amazon. The look sharp and very bright at night. I highly recommend them.
I saw these on Amazon late last week & saved the link to my XFire List. There were 2 sets available: clear & smoke. They look good on your car!
I appreciate the positive comments shared here .....yes I agree the background really sets up the overall photo for quality
I have always had that attention to detail for the most part with my pics
Hi All,
This weekend just past, I enjoyed some time on the car and:
Installed a fresh set of bucket seats (textile this time rather than synthetic leather so warmer and less slide action)
Installed a RaceChip XLR5 Throttle Response module
Installed an ebay purchased used stainless backbox delete section that I secured a few months ago (Needs a pro exhaust shop to cut/twist/seal etc) Auto-Style Universal Bucket Seats with TRS Harnesses Stainless backbox delete section RaceChip XLR5
Replaced the third brake light on my Roadster today after having it repaired ... Dave at ledfix.com provides a great service at a very good price ... plus a year warranty ... removal and replacement was not difficult
over the weekend, Eric and I serviced a nice SRT roadster and a red 6 speed coupe. Worked on our own cars as well. Here’s some pics from the last couple weekends. Rear brakes, 4 KYB shocks, headlight restore. Coolant tank, washer tank, shifter bushings. My SRT rescue at work getting a wheel & tire swap.
SRT getting a new windshield. Friends Crossfire(s) getting NeedsWings intakes, brake work, valve cover work, and some other odds and ends.
Co-workers black coupe and my ‘08 SRT in for some maintenance New LEDs SRT cont’d My Dads Crossfire getting a new (used) top.
Installed a backup camera, and hardwired in a Dashcam & Radar.
Also cleaned up the sub wiring and actually ran a remote wire, since the power-on by signal to the sub was staying on for longer than I'd like after the car was off.
Will work on wiring later. Install after Backup camera was a PITA. wiring up through the window and loom then back down to the tail light was such a pain. Should have just used the one that goes above the license plate, but this one also does a lot better at night because of the light.
I programed the built-in garage door opener. It works great.
I pulled my radio out to see how much room is behind it. I'm replacing it. Some of the buttons dont work. I put it back in. Removal tools from Amazon worked great.
Today was a good day. I've been looking for Heat shield fasteners for my car, I'm trying to keep it as original as possible. So on a whim I drove down to the local Mercedes dealer, I've found other things I was looking for a few times before, they had them in stock!
Not only that, but the parts guy was cool and likes old cars. He gave me a great discount! Just look at the price of these fasteners and what I ended up paying for them!
I finished the rear brakes today. I had to wait for the new slide pins to arrive. Hopefully I'll get to the fronts tomorrow. Then I can bleed them all, clean everything and move on to the next item on the list.

Mercedes Parts department near me said they were not allowed to sell me any parts if it was for a Crossfire. They are not very high on my list!
That's why you never tell them its for a Crossfire
Tell them the Mercedes model equivalent
I think it's SLK320
Correct. To truly cover all contingencies have an appropriate VIN to give them too. I was told this was a requirement due to potential warranty coverage of the parts they're selling you.

If you provide a VIN cant they tell it's a Crossfire and not an SLK320 ??
