Finally replaced the vent at the top of the console - I'd broken two of the fins with a phone holder that was too heavy. Basically a very quick operation - remove the radio, remove two screws, snap off the center portion with the switches, and remove two more screws. No wires need to be disconnected, just gotten out of the way. Vent just pulls out easily. Got the replacement from EBay.

Thanks in advance.

$600 for someone else to do it is a great price.
if you’re going to attempt this on your own
get a tube of touchup and watch a lot of YouTube paint scratch repair videos.

Light sand the area to remove hard edges or loose paint
then 2-3 passes with paint to fill in the scratch leave it for 24 hours after paint

then wet sand, lightly with 1500/2000/3000
to even it out. DONT PRESS TO HARD

follow up with McQuiares 105/205 available on jungle web site
variable speed drill orange pad the red to finish

i had lots of paint work to correct on a recently acquired R58. Lots of scratches
I did these steps, I used 5 different polish compounds but you can most likely get away with just 2
the results were like new

no matter what you do, it will look 100x better than it sours right now.

it’s only paint and you can always do it over.

pm me for more details. We can talk over the phone.

I appreciate the help and info.
I probably won't tackle this until the fall, so if I do decide to try it, I'll send you a pm.
Thanks,
John

My 2004 Crossfire has been garaged awhile so got him out to change the oil/filter, coolant and hypoid gear oil. What I was not expecting was a CEL, which turned out to be a P0410 error code. I first cleaned the two electrical terminals on the 2nd air injector air pump and applied a drop of Stabilant 22 to each. Also checked the big 40 amp fuse, which was fine. After clearing the code, start-up was fine with no CEL. Maybe just cleaning the terminals would have been enough to fix the issue but I believe in Stabilant 22. It's resolved this issue as well as an air bag light on my 986 Porsche by helping secure electrical connections in our old cars.

Working on my black roadster as time allows. Purchased it about a month ago. It's a 2007 with 72,000 miles.
Have been Dailying the white coupe for a couple weeks. Just about to hit 148,000 miles.
Newest addition, yellow roadster! Only 28,000 miles.

Pulled the Climate Control Module and sent it to DJ last Monday, got it back today (1 week) and got it installed ... now I know how this thing was intended to work when it was new ... the Climate Control Module works great and well worth the time to send it to DJ ... we are truly blessed to have people like DJ that can do these repairs for us ...

Went to a car show today and met the new owner of a 2004 Coupe.
The car looks like it just came off the showroom floor and looks to be all original.

The 2004 Coupe and my 2006 Roadster
The 2004 Coupe and my 2006 Roadster
The guys I drove up to the show with (excluding the red coupe and my black roadster). A 1969 Pontiac GTO, I think it's a 2017 or 18 Challenger T/A 392 Hemi, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396, 1987 Mustang GT modified, Not in the picture a 1965 Mustang GT fastback.

Some ask me how I keep my engine bay so clean.
I did this yesterday in preparation for the Woodward Dream Cruise next weekend

With a cool engine temperature I cover the alternator with plastic and simply lightly spray everywhere with a garden hose and rinse away dust.
Then uncover the alternator and go for a drive and let the engine heat dry everything completely.
Then simply detail with any product you choose to restore the black surfaces.
***I have NO oil leakage but if you do, spray oily area with Simple Green and allow about 10 minutes for it to penetrate areas applied before rinsing as I did here.
***Note: If you remove your OEM engine cover be sure to cover the throttle body (Air Inlet) completely with plastic !!

Looks great!
Any tips on cleaning the under hood insulation besides vacuuming?
Mine is just a little dusty.
Thanks
Jim

Valk is the only thing you cover the alternator.

That's all I cover whenever I detail the engine bay. And as Gary has stated elsewhere, I place a plastic bag securely over the throttle body intake If I've taken the engine cover off during washing.

I got a new Dash Cover for the Crossfire from Dash Designs.
They have several fabrics and colors.
I got the Black "DashTex" style.
It is applied with small Velcro strips that adhere to the cover.
