I made an appointment with my mechanic to have new windshield washer nozzles and a new hood strut installed and the siren module removed. It's still working, but I assume that any day now the 20-year-old module battery will dump all over the circuit board and become the apparently ubiquitous parasitic draw that will kill the car's battery.
I can no longer bend far enough to reach into the engine bay, and the shop I go to has done all the work on our Crossfire so I trust them.

Don't get rid of the alarm. Get the upgraded alarm module that was put into the CLK and later Merc models. It beep everytime you lock/unlock the car - once for driver and passenger side and three times when you lock it to show driver/passenger/trunk has been unlocked. And I really like that becasue in FLorida the sun is so bright that it's hard to see if your car locked by just looking at flashing headlights. Also, every now and then people come too close to my car and even had someone sit on the hood to text so....Alarm activated! LOL

Yesterday was cold here in SC, but no cloud cover & a clear sky. So I uncovered the Coupe & took it out for a short drive to 'stretch its legs'. Felt really good to get behind the wheel & get on I-385 where the XFire could run around 75-80 with traffic. After 30-45 minutes of freeway speeds, headed home & re-covered the Coupe. Now it's ready for any snowfall forecasted.

I do the same thing frequently throughout the winter when the roads are dry and free of salt dust
Replaced the fuel filter on the SRT6. Next up will be the Limited. Nothing wrong with them, but figured it was good preventative maintenance considering the EVAP problems which have been reported.

I probably need to consider this on my 2007 Coupe. Approaching 20 years, but only 36k miles.
Was a good weekend to do a lil paint.
Went to auto paint store and had a boom can of black made up. I ordered a can of sparkle silver online. Small areas are rattle can worthy vs mixing & cleaning spray gun etc twice for such a little job.
Took off the coatings under the **** and convertible tops rub guard. They were ugly.
Sprayed the door handles PAK Sparkle Silver and the rub guard/wing recess PBX black with 2k clear over everything.
Much more uniform glossy look to rear.
Never cared for those other factory coatings.
Shes not perfect but will do fine till a complete re-spray. And if youre looking under my wingage, then your second place opinion doesnt really matter does it. lol.
Have a good week!
