Had Rudy's one touch convertible switch installed in Ashley's car. Very cool and much nicer than holding your finger on the button for 23 seconds. Thanks Rudy

Mine is next . I am just waiting for the mirror switch to be sent.

Cleaned the K&N air filter tonight....bugs!

ok guys...please don't beat me up. I want to learn. I have read, read, read lots of threads here.

Why is the CAI thing so much better that stock!

I get it, that the cooler air intake is for better engine performance.

But, the stock intakes ARE in front of the radiator. Both sides.

I see the Needswings are even closer to the grill though.

I am a grasshopper....you are a rock.

Thanks for everything I have read here. I'm am here to stay, can't see selling my XF.....ever. Love it!

ROCKBASSES just look at the back of the air intake where the air enters the manifold on the engine and you will see the biggest restriction with the stock system......that is ahy an after market air intake system is superior to the stock 1.

Are you in reference to the grid there... which has been noted "removable" in previous threads?

On the N/A's, the air filters sit directly over the engine. So even though you bring in cooler air (via plastic tubes which can collect engine heat), the air still goes through the air filters which can "cook" the air before hitting the throttle body. With the Needswings setup, the filter is in front of the radiator. When the car is moving, the air will be cooler. Also, if you get a thermal coated intake, it will resist heat even more before it gets to the throttle body.

I will be driving slow on that part OR...should I just drive the wife's Malibu?

Lookin good! On the DCAI installation are you going to put the left horn back on? When I did mine, after you bend the attach brackets the horn will fit but it's a little tight. Also, is that different filters you have on?

Eventually will try to get the horn back in there. It was getting late so didn't have time to put in on. The driver side filter is temporary.

Ok, sounds good. I'm sure you'll enjoy the DCAI. I know I do
