What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Said good bye to my Varta battery:

My car is a 2005 with 57,000 miles...if that was the original battery...wow! Over 7 years for a battery is pretty good.
Bought me a new Champion from Walmart:

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
My Mrs has been after me to clean out all my 'junk' for many many years. I would say about 30 years. She's known I am a 'junk' (I prefer to call it disorganized spare parts for some unknown future project) collector all along. I actually am getting to see it is a bit much. She's starting to sort through the many years of her collected stuff (hers is collected stuff, mine is of course junk) and we are realizing a little extra space. Only problem, we are filling the space with more 'stuff'. Good thing is the stuff we are putting in the place of the 'stuff' going away is it is consumable (foodstuffs on sale, and the most important potent potables that were on quite a sale).

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Two days late on posting this, but I treated my XF to a complete battery cleanup to include removing the tray below the battery and getting to see the pneumatic line everyone has been talking about in reference to the fresh air damper and the clicking behind the glove box (which I have been experiencing and solve by turning the fan switch to anything but the off position). The tray was in awesome shape and the innards below the battery was super clean (garage kept). Cleaned minor road/under hood slime off both the battery and complete tray, and cleaned both posts and clamps. Re-installation went great with only a minor adjustment from factory (the battery tray is kinda crooked which had the battery closer to the sharp fender edge near the front of the vehicle). I corrected it to about 95% parallel to the fender (maximum adjustment with mounting points), which saves my fingers from slices when I wipe up the water during washes.
I also wanted to check/test the BAS/ESP light coming on and the siren blaring from the posts of other members. I generally remove the neg cable/clamp first (its a smart thing to do especially if you have seen some of the safety reports shown during the weekly briefings we were required to do when I was active duty) then the positive cable clamp. Both times this battery was out of the car since ownership, the siren did not trip and the BAS/ESP lamp was not lit when the battery was reconnected. Reconnection was the reverse of disconnection with the positive clamp first (then covered with the little red cover), and then the negative cable/clamp. This "First Off-Last On" procedure with these negative cable clamps is safest for negative ground vehicles when dealing with the current in these batteries. I wonder if the way folks are pulling those clamps off/on is causing the trigger of either the alarm and or the BAS/ESP light, that has to be reset?

Without a doubt on the small hands! It wasn't as problematic for me to change mine as I thought it would be because of my smaller hands, though I did have to take off the watch.

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Forgot to reset the seat belt chime silence after cleaning the battery and tray the other day. Tonight I pulled into the yard and up to the gate. Put her in park and opened the gates. Climbed back in and drove about 5 feet before that dang 'beep beep' went off. Took until parking in the garage and pulling out the 'cheat-sheet' in the owners manual to reset the dang thing so it doesn't beep when I am moving the car around the yard. All better now!

removed the 307 differential and install a 327,, install a newly retuned tcm ,, working out a few bugs , so far it works just like it was made for the car.
going to the track this weekend
did not open it just sent the 307 diff. with wavetrac to Untrax for R & D .
cost of everything
327 diff 400.
wavetrac 1200
installing wavetrac into 327 housing , then into car, tune the tcu,,, priceless,,

Jim maybe I am mistaken but I thought the 327 gear could not be used on a car running the srt6 tcu and visa versa with n/a tcu and the 307 gears. I have the complete drive train from the srt6 in my n/a. I would rather have the 327 gears if the tcu wouldn't act up with the diff ratio. Rudy informed me it wasn't possible to run the n/a rear with the srt6 modules and engine. What have you done to mitigate the running of either gear ratio with your setup?

Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Jim, That is pretty cool if the TCU can be modified. Who does this? Up Until I just saw your post above, I thought this was impossible. I kept my transmission because I didn't want to have to run a 3.07 rear. Besides the 3.27 the gear ratios in the n/a trans make for awsome acceleration with a V8

my factory tcm P/N is--------------- 033-545-12-32 this tcm was being used with 307 rear I kept it so i can go back to stock if i want to
the one I got from Eurocharged is 030-545-23-32 is being used with 327 rear..
if any of the limited owners wanted to go to a 307 gear for better mpg you can do that also
Rudy has done this, before but it was/is in testing,, I wanted him to do mine but he is no longer at speedriven, and they have the star = another peace of equipment to do this.
