Good point, I have yet to see a dealership that will engage in an activity where they know they are getting bent over. They usually prefer to be the sender, not the bender LMAO

I had a five year extended warranty on my '04 and it included ten no charge oil changes, I was interested if they would use Mobil1 and they did as I saw them putting it in. The '04s had a paper filter as OEM and that is what they used, but with two oil changes every 4,000 miles I figured a paper filter was OK, they used Mann filters from Mercedes boxes.

For every one of these stories I hear 10x the amount that the dealer screwed up. I am shocked your Chrysler dealer even stocked Mobile1, maybe for the new 'halo' crossfire, what a success that was LOL

Look at Grip's recent trip when he was told it was all changed and it looked like the filter was about 3 years old. Car only had like 3K miles on it and they still screwed up

Well I must say I was surprised, but they even gave me a Mercedes paper filter for my first oil change, I still have it as they never asked for it. They must have other vehicles that spec out Mobil 1, Sprinter vans maybe?

They never sold too many Crossfires, three I think. They loved my SRT when I took it in, and gave it a quick going over. I was there to pick up a part, not for a service.

My wife worked there for a few years and I always got good service. I have heard from my wife sorry tales about the place but I never got any hassles. The service manager tried his lies on me once and I reminded him who he was talking to and he never tried it again. Lying is in their blood, if you can't lie you cannot succeed in that business.

I purchased two sets of tires last year from a tire place, the first time they never tightened the studs on one wheel. The second time the air pressure in the SRT was 40psi in the rear and 30psi in the front. I guess the average was about right. If you worked on tires for a living I would think you would know where to look to get the correct pressure on every car. I will not return there again. The manager said that rust was to blame for the loose nuts, I told him he was full of *****.

I made an emphatic point about the Mobil1 oil, in an email and in person. Also I had them bring me the old filter and the box that the new filter came in, so I could verify they changed it. If I've learned anything on this forum, I've learned to be cautious when dealing with dealers. When I was leaving, the service writer asked the service manager who was going to pay the difference in the cost of the Mobil1 over their regular oil, at first I thought they were going to hit me up for some cash, but the service manager said they would recover the difference from the sales department since the sales department sold me the contract.

At the time I bought the car I also purchased an extended powertrain warranty, so if there is engine failure, they'll have to repair or replace it, so I'm feeling pretty confident about everything. (knock on wood)

I took it for a spin with the new drag setup. It seems to like the MT ET Streets. I also ordered some RE-11's for the summer. Last but not least, I added 1,000 miles to the odometer.

Jacked up the rear, put it on stands, put it in 'N' and inspected both drive shaft flex couplings.
HOORAY !!!! - using a LED flashlight and a magnifying glass, NO signs of cracks or dry rotting.
( 52,500 miles, but never any exposure to snow or salt )

Today I installed three sets of exterior W5W 5 segment LED's in the fenders and headlight corners. Dang things look GREAT! This afternoon I tackled the dome lights and that was another story! I was under the impression the dome lights were like the fender lights and at first glance they looked the same. I didn't understand why after removing the lens, that they didn't just 'pop' out. So, I went ahead and removed the housing and twisted off one of the bulbs. They looked like the kind of socket/connection like the dash lights, I thought that strange... So I took the bulb and kept wiggling it out of the socket and it all of a sudden it 'popped' out of the base... Well, I got to looking at the socket and saw bare wire there. Hmmmm, I says, this looks strange... I looked real closely at the bulb I removed, and oh boy am I in trouble! The bulbs in my housing were inserted into the socket and the connecting tabs were clamping down on the bulb wire. It even looked like the wire was 'tack' welded to the connecting tab. So, I ruined one OEM bulb! I brought both bulbs into the house and cornfumed a mod/fix involving 22ga copper stranded speaker wire and formed a connector that was trapped into the socket by the new LED bulb base. The other end was snaked around (inside the socket) and the connecting tab slid onto the end trapping it (with pressure) in place. Bench testing shows both lights working but the real test is if it sits right in the housing and makes proper connection. Installed first lamp, connected cable in my hand, and slid the switch to light... Nothing!... OK, turned the bulb around and tried it again and... Nothing!... OK, rethink this stuff and realized the switch does not turn the lights on, the button does! So, pressed the button and nothing... Turned the bulb 180 degrees again (its original position) and pressed the button. WOOOHOOO, this one is working! OK, now slid the second socket into place and since I marked the LED base, orientated correctly and BAM now both light. Snapped the housing into place, screwed the screws back into housing, and snapped the lens cover on the housing. Final check, set the switch for the lights to come on when the door opens, and BAM! All working great! Now for the final test, closed the door and waited for the dimming... After a few the bulbs slowly dimmed then off. Another MOD done with the help of the forum (Thanks George aka alaxfire) and it is all buttoned up. Oh, absolutely no bulb out warnings as these were CAN BUS approved according to the seller and no resistor necessary.

Odd.
I had no problems at all with the dome lights:
bulbs came out, LED's went in, no problems.
( even got the polarity right the first try )

Best I can describe it was the old miniature christmas tree lights where the bulb is glass with two wires straight out, that is how this arrangement was like EXCEPT the bulb base had those two tabs that lock unto the housing while scraping along the conductor and making the connection. Just like dash cluster lamp sockets. Yeah, quite a surprise. They must have made a few different typs of housing/bulbs combinations. I am hoping the pressure connections do not oxidize and break connection. They were about 3 1/2 hours to fabricate with about 5 or 6 previous adaptations of metal and wire bent into this or that shape. Glad I found a working combination!

Decided to finally fix the valve cover leaks. Tomorrow I'll reinstall them and hope for the best.

got the cars detailed last weekend (I farmed it out) and now the black ones ash tray won't close. Thanks for the "pesky" fix thread. I'll be doing that tomorrow. Now, if I can fix it with some gorilla glue or something (the plastic piece that breaks), I'll consider that a small victory and put it all back together stock. I thought the part would be more robust, but I had the cupholder replaced on the grey one a while ago. Now they're even. Thanks thread authors/contributors.

Installed my new Braille battery in the coupe and no codes. So I guess it was the battery. Took it for a spin around the block. Rudy. This 62mm pulley is going to cost me a new set of tires. These a/s radials that came on this coupe will not last. Not that they would have anyway. I breath on the throttle and they break loose. Have to leave the TC on. Hate that. LOL. Now to tweak a few more things and get the dashdaq install completed.
