Let us know how it works, Les. I have been considering this for quite some time...

I've been working every day so no chance to install them yet but I did see the rim bands as well. The thought of something going between my tire and rim like that just doesn't seem like a good idea to me and like you said, they cost a lot more.

Removed my front bumper cover and repaired damaged caused by me being stupid and pulling forward over one of those parking place wheel stops. When I backed up, the bumper cover hung on it and pulled the drivers side away from the fender, bent the bracket that bolts them together, and tore a small notch on the lip.

I detached the metal bracket which is affixed to the bumper cover at the join point, straightened it out in the vise and reattached it to the cover with pop rivets.
The fender was also slightly bent in the join area, used a rawhide mallet to get it back close to normal.

End result : you have to look real close now to see there was ever any damage.

( and I avoided the dreaded 'salvage title' )

Installed a set a Autolite copper core 3922's today. Changing plugs is a piece of cake when you have the proper tools, which I usually don't.

The tools work so great, I have to post up a link to a set:

This is the best money spent to date on this car, besides performance mods.

Glad to hear this. I bought this exact tool set a couple of months ago, but haven't used or bought plugs and wires yet. Autolite 3922's instead of OEM??

I wrapped my wing in carbon fiber vinyl to see how it looks, not too shaby if I do say so myself.

Had a run-in with a 2013 Chrysler 300 SRT8. The XF made him a believer.

I didn't wrap the bottom, just the top.

I installed a new water pump last night in an effort to eliminate a strange unwanted sound. After the install I realized the sound was still there. As a result I ordered an alternator last night, as it has to be there bearings (I've tried/tested everything else).

Anyone in the market for a low mile OEM water pump in excellent condition?

Installed a new alternator and it was a direct bolt-on. Problem solved, problem sound is gone!
I also installed new gaskets on my cutouts to elininate an exhaust leak.

The seat belt covers came so I replaced the Wally World fake sheep wool with these. I think I am going to order a set of Mercedes Benz ones so I can switch them out or maybe use one of each. I also stopped the top with the cover open and cleaned in there and the underside of the cover.

Installed new alternator. Direct bolt on from ebay.

Also changed out the trans filter and the electric connector. All done on the Limited.

Removed the headliner, found the leak in the rear to be caused by the wiring harness boot connecting the hatch to the body side. Cleaned up, re-applied, looking good so far!
