"No Start" on eBay - cheap
Last edited by JEFASOLD; Jun 17, 2014 at 08:05 PM.
Just out of curiosity - why do you guys consider this a cheap buy? Is this a common problem and easy to fix with our cars but mechanics can't figure it out because they don't really know what to do with these cars? Just wondering, I remember reading through a few long discussions about NO START issues a while back but gave up cause there was too much of information there and I didn't really have the problem (knock on wood I won't have to sit in my Xfire some day and it won't start )
Nick, there is a common issue with the No start that has a relatively simple fix. Using the instructions in the post on No Start, I was able to pull the trouble some circuit board, solder it (as indicated) and have not had an issue since. Now there are other issues that can cause the no start, but if this is "typical" variety, it certainly and easy fix. Plus, if you don't want to do yourself, there are members here who will do the fix for you...love the xf forum!

Thanks for clarifying guys. I figured there is a list of fixes for this issue all more or less inexpensive. I shake my head at people who have an issue like the one mentioned in the original post and don't find the time to research online or even find this forum! Those folks rightfully should get rid of this car as they are obviously not qualified to drive or own one!
On the low mileage subject: Crossfire owners tend to drive their cars far less than the national average given the numbers tossed around here on the forum regarding mileage. However I don't think we've done much in the way of actually taking a good statistically sound sample of this amongst our group.
The USDOT (FHWA) puts average mileage of a US Driver at around 13.5K per year (men = 16.5K, women = 10.1K).
Since this car is 10 years old, and using the FHWA numbers as a bench mark, this car falls below the "average" mileage mark, it would be low for a male driver and just about right if the driver were female. Again, this is assuming the car is a primary source of transportation for the owner and their driving habits are consistent with national norms.
But, as I said, XF owners don't seem to drive anywhere near those annual numbers. It would be interesting to find out where members of the forum are with mileage on their XF's.
I have an 05 with approximately 72K
Primary drive but I work from home.

Miles are figured on 12k a year for a one car owner. at this time 2014 with the Crossfire being 10 years old 102000 miles is average. This is how the used car dealer figures it out. Low mileage would be considered 90K or less.

There is also that majic line at ten years and 100K miles. Cross either and the milage isn't "low" Financing is harder to get.
Plain and simple, not a low milage car but at $4K knowing thecost o most fixes for this propblem, a steal Evden if ne spent a grand just to get it home
But this one is an autoshift and....it.....is......Black

lol.... it may re appear Last 2 times it sold, no one paid...and it was re listed.. With shipping, I would have had over 5k in it. I think I have one spotted locally for that, and it still runs....
The owner was here a month ago https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...help-help.html looking for help.
would have been worth the effort. I have 1st dibs on a 1 owner lady driven limit coupe whenever she decides to sell. Push 100k on it right now, so I think she will let it go in the next year or so....if not sooner now that she knows she has a buyer. I told her I would give what the dealer offers. And I know most of the dealers around here. Over 10 yrs old or 100k and they all go to the auction automatically, or to a wholesaler... If I see any, I will post them up...but I haven't seen one in some time that was worth anything as a daily driver, only, a possible build car for a V-8... You know, trashed interior, rough paint, high mileage kind of car...
