Question Car Not Unlocking 5% Of The Time

Anyone have issues with the car not unlocking via remote? Once every two weeks or so it refuses to and I have to insert the key into the door handle to unlock the car. I replaced the car battery 2 months ago and just recently replaced the key batteries and the problem persists.

Thanks

Some more info: The car will unlock when I insert the key into the door, so that rules out the pump mentioned? The key, none of the buttons will work, so that rules out the contacts being worn out? The key, once the car is unlocked via the door handle, all of the buttons work immediately, so that rules out the battery not getting proper contact?

So this seems to be something else.

I'd hazard a guess and say that the problem is in the radio signal from the fob somehow.
How many fobs do you have? Do you have trouble with both if you have two?

Only have one right now, unfortunately.

Hey bro, try to re-pair the key remote to the car real quick and let me know if it still does it.

The pairing process is pretty simple.
1. Insert key into ignition.
2. double press either the lock or unlock buttons.
3. Turn the key in the ignition to the ON/RUN position within 30 seconds of pressing either button.

That's not what the Owners manual says, but I'm not sure it matters either way.
The 2004 manual says the following.

The system may have to be resynchronized if the transmitter
is without voltage for several minutes. To synchronize,
aim the transmitter eye at the vehicle and briefly
press either the Lock or the Unlock button twice. Within
approximately 30 seconds, insert the key in the ignition
and turn it to the ON/RUN position. The remote control
should once again be operational.

6 of one, half dozen of the other.
The 'eye' does nothing, it is an RF transmitter, not an IR transmitter.

In Adrain_x's example, the remote is just a bit closer than in yours.

Regardless of how he does it, trying it can't hurt. Another member on the Chrysler Crossfire facebook group had a similar issue where the key wouldn't unlock at all even while used in the door. After I had her reprogram the key, it worked flawlessly. This might help him out lol

EDIT: btw ala, been considering upgrading my 5 sided T10 eyebrow LEDs to what you have in right now(the 25watt ones). Yay, nay? Do you have any pics of them by any chance?

Alright, have done so, will see if this solves it, normally happens once a week, unlocking the car at least 20 times each week, will hopefully know within 2 weeks if it did solve the weird issue. Thanks.

Side note, might have been important to note: Yesterday it happened again and I noticed that once I turn the car on, both blinkers flash once. Not sure why, that might be important or not.

Double check the terminals on the car battery, and see if there's any corrosion on them just to be sure. If one of the terminals isn't making proper contact that could do it too.

There's also the issue of having a loose ground somewhere in the engine bay that could be causing it?

I have this problem too. Happens about 50% of the time. So, I use the key, big deal. Somewhere the fob isn't linking with the car. It's not something I worry about.

Alright, well thanks, I guess. I worry about it.

Terminals on battery are fine on both, it's not a power issue as the car unlocks fine with the key, and the key works instantly once manually unlocking.

Hasn't happened again yet, hope the key reset worked for whatever reason.
