Car lift, anyone interested?
Looks great for changing tyres but once the car is up but where would you place your Jack stands so you can work under it. Im thinking you can't work under ther car when using this car lift. Am i missing something?
The lift has automatic built in locks. It will lock at half way up and at full height. No need to mess with jack stands. I have worked under my cars on the creeper, not as convenient as being able to stand under the cars but I don’t have the ceiling height for that. So all things considered it’s pretty damn handy.
I like mine as well, works perfectly.
Once you have the lift in one of the two locked positions, you can disconnect the power unit and hydraulic hoses and leave the car forever.
Plenty of room to work underneath from front to rear.
Easy enough to store when not in use even though I have tripped on it after a few beers!
The prices on these lifts dropped significantly when Costco started carrying them, that was when I got mine.

QuickJack lists the 5000# lift (Opened Box or Refurbished) for $990 under their "Garage Sale" webpage on their website. Comparable to the price listed from Costco.
I don't think you misled anyone. QuickJack lists the 5000# lift under their "Garage Sale" webpage as either Open Box or Refurbished for $990. An Open Box version is essentially a new lift. I'll bet QuickJack made a deal with Costco to sell a new 5000# lift for $999 to produce some quick cash flow. If Costco's product is a new lift, that price is really good considering it sells for over $1400 new. It will be interesting to learn what you hear back from QuickJack.
I am not to keen working under cars that close to the ground as I am a bit claustrophobic in those situations. But I can see the advantage of a set, very nice.

I sent 'Quickjack an email asking what model and if NEW or refurb/seconds. Will post here when they reply. I hope I didn't mislead anyone!
