Vacuum Pump / Central Locking (Part ref: 1708000848)
Hi,
I'm looking for a replacement pump for my Roadster due to water damage in trunk. Can anyone advise me if the pump from a Coupe will provide the same functionality for the Roadster (central locking / trunk / convertible roof / filler cap etc.)
Thanks in advance.

They are the same part, you can get them on eBay, just make sure you get the four sockets on pigtails with it as your sockets will most probably be ruined. It would be hard to buy the sockets alone if you just buy the pump without them.

Hi,
Does anyone know if the yellow vacuum tubes need to be connected in a specific order for the Roadster? I recently replaced my vacuum pump in the trunk due to water damage and the hydraulic roof now operates as it should, however the fuel cap door and trunk aren't now locking. I had already removed the unit before receiving the replacement part . Although not a major issue, the door locks also don't appear to be locking using air assistance, however it's a bit hard to tell as I lock the driver's door manually with the key (remote keyfob has not operated for some time - however this is a problem specifically with the keyfob).
If the air lines can be connected to the pump iin any order, then I'm OK with that as the filler cap door and trunk not currently locking is not a deal-breaker for me. I particularly wanted the replacement vacuum unit so I could operate the electric roof using the dashboard switch, which is now working great, however if I can solve the boot/filler cap issues by simply swapping the order of a couple of the yellow vacuum lines then that'll be a bonus..I'm just a bit wary to swap the order of the vacuum lines, as I may have just hit lucky with the roof vacuum line and don't wish to mix up all three lines and end up with nothing working.
Any help or knowledge regarding the yellow vacuum tubes/hoses would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on how the car is programmed. My car is programmed that ONE press of either LOCK or UNLOCK activates ALL locks. In this case, it does not matter how you plumb it, as all ports act the same.
IF pressing the button twice does not open all doors, I'd say the CLP/SSM is bad or you have a leaky hose somewhere.

Not quite true the gas cap lock only locks when the car is locked from the outside and only unlocks when the car is opened from the outside. It remains unlocked when you are driving the car.
The pump has three circuits, drivers door, passenger door and hatch and the gas cap. The first two circuits can be run simultaneously or independently as you state.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, hence the title about "two doors" not "everything. So the point is, plumbing matters, period.
I know when I change a CLP/SSM, I label my hoses before removing them.
