Default Engine needing replaced?

Hello, I feel like every time I post I get responses from the same. So this is the next part of me trying to fix my crossfire. I finally got to a point of realization that I don't know enough about the crossfire's engine, and I took it to a shop. It has been in the shop for a week and throughout that time I only got a few updates. The cylinders were over fueling, and the 2 month old spark plugs were looking fouled. Today they called and told me they did a compression test, they were looking for around 100psi in each cylinder and got around 75 in each cylinder, one of higher because it was wet with fuel. But still all relatively the same. They told me this and informed me that it "needs a new engine" which I really don't believe, especially because I've gone to college for ase training. What I was taught is that in a compression test you're looking more that each cylinder is the same rather than looking for an actual spec amount of pressure. I know these engines are some what picky so I just want to know what people who might know more here think. I asked them to take a boroscope and look inside the cylinder so I can see the condition of the cylinders. But I really don't think it needs a nee engine.

Milage, what kind of "shop"? Limited or SRT-6?

If you want help, stop starting new threads. Create a post that details the problems/symptoms you are fighting. Give us a little history on the issues, etc.
Then, let's get into what's going on. I see you have created several threads and sometimes that is appropriate - but to diagnose a car, we've got to pack the information in ONE thread, and best is not to tag on someone else's thread (tho newbs do that often, its not always a bad idea but it's best just to start your own thread).

I doubt you need a new engine as well, that sounds like the utterance of someone who simply can't diagnose the car. MOST of the time, the issue with these engines is NOT the engine, its a module, a sensor or a bad fuel pump, and you know that (I can tell) as well as any of us do.

I didn't really think about the problem with making a new thread every time but now that you mention it, it make sense to stay on one thread. It has 218k and has only been having issues for a little over a month. Now before anyone bashes me it was my last resort as the only import shop near me has really bad reviews, and I figured that at the very least they would have manuals to guide them through diag. I took it to my local chrysler dealer. I already regret it and I've done some digging to find a new mechanic that can help me, but I was desperate and made not the best decision. As for symptoms, it has an over fueling issue according to the dealer, I asked them to also check out a ticking noise, which I was told by another mechanic from the college I went to that it's probably just lifter tick. The main concern though is that it occasionally stalls and won't start up, I can wait for like 30 minutes not do anything, then turn the key and it'll start up with no problem, as well as that it has recently had the issue of a delay in the throttle. If I give it gas it bogs down, almost stalling out, before it actually accelerates. I have replaced the throttle body with helped a little bit, but from some research I've done I'm wondering if maybe it's the pedals position sensor that is causing the issue. Sorry for the long read, just trying to give as much info as possible, also please go easy on me. I know taking these cars to chrysler is cardinal sin, but at the time I thought I was my best option

75psi per cyl is bad, it should be more than double that

Rob is the kinda guy who would know.

ROB, I know of MANY Crossfires with over 250,000 miles on them. What do you supposed happened with this car?

i have compression tested many srt6 engines COLD and they have been 145-170psi range, the NA motor is a HIGHER compression motor and thus should make more PSI on a compression test, i would expect to see 170-190. yes there is % that they need to be within from each other, but all being low in the 75-100 range is no good, if the test was done with good battery voltage and a good gauge and know how, then the engine is doomed, figure 250 for a used low mile motor from a junk yard and 10 hours + fluids for the install.

Is there anything that can cause low compression that can be fixed? I’ve heard of low compression because of dirty valves, or head gasket issues. Of is it just the cylinder being so worn out that the engine is done for?

Low milage used engines are cheaper than a rebuild. They were also used in Mercedese which a plentiful.

I got the car back last night, they fixed my throttle concern and my stalling issue. They noticed my mag sensor was unplugged. I also had them use a bore scope and take pictures of the cylinders, there’s some scoring, but it doesn’t look too bad. I need to check my battery, but I have a feeling they did the compression test wrong. It drives great again, so I’m not sure
