Two potatoes are going to cost me a new bumper plus painting the front clip to match. Went to the grocery to pick up two potatoes for the wife. Pulled into the space curb and when I left I hear a bad noise for the front right. The rebar that holds the curb in place was sticking up about two inches. Of course it grabbed the bottom of my bumper and ripped the right corner off the bumper mount. I have appointment withe the store owner requesting that he pay damages.
You are not the first to experience this, you won't be the last. I snagged mine, fortunately, it did no damage but to put a nick in the bottom of the lip.
I will be amazed if you get anything out of the store "owner".
It happens easily .....
I've been driving a Crossfire for 16 years and almost NEVER have pulled in far enough to be over a curb or parking block
Beside our cars a short and there is no need to pull in all the way

Maybe he’ll reimburse you the price of two potatoes.
If it’s a plaza it’s not his problem.
Decided to fix it myself even though 2 body shops said it was not repairable. I bought a Plastic Weld Kit and went to work on attaching the 10" ripped bumper mount back on. On both sides, after welding rip, I added stainless steel mesh and melted that into the bumper plastic. Straightened out the metal attaching piece that goes on top and attached with new rivets. The mount does not support any real weight but rather is there for aligning the bumper to the fender. There are two bolts on top and two nuts on the bottom that bear the light weight of the bumper cover. Used filler, sanded, primmered and painted even though not the correct paint. I can repaint later with correct Machine Grey paint. This is not a professional job, obviously, but did save myself $1600 and looks pretty good. My concern was I have $1000 deductible and did not want to see my insurance raise my rates upon renewal.
Thanks! What did you do about the rock damage you had on your bumper back in April 2012?
I bought my car in April of this year, 2023.
It's mainly some stone chips. I'm taking my car to a detailer. He also does paint correction. Hopefully he'll be able to fix some of them.
If not, then I'll have to try touch up paint or something. I don't think I can afford a paint job.
