Talking Changed key fob car cranks and stalls !!

I did it to my self.........changed the key case and the dreaded skeem fault hit me. THe car cranked 3 times and quit - reset the battery and it does it again. IF YOU CHANGE THE KEY FOB THERE IS A SMALL BLACK HUNK STUCK IN THE CASE. IT MUST BE CHANGED OVER TO BE ABLE TO START THE CAR!!!.

The identity of the key is this black piece, not attached to the printed circuit board, stuck to the plastic case. I thought that I had killed the car, so dont be a Woody, switch the personality block over to the new case.

I WAS SAVED AGAIN BY ROB AT NEEDSWINGS, THANKS FOR THE INFO ROB - YOUR THE MAN.

I cant believe YOU of all people didn't know that.

You seem to know EVERYTHING else (not being sarcastic, either).

The transponder chip is small and looked like a part of the old case, completely missed the little lump, as it did not appear to be electrically involved, there are no connections or terminals on it, I mistook it to be a lump of tape or padding. But the answer is to ask ROB when in doubt. - Seek a higher power. Enjoy, Woody

The older I get, the more opportunities I have to learn something new (a failing memory can be a source for a chuckle or two). Glad it wasn't too late & you found the old case to recover!
