Default No rear audio with aftermarket stereo

Hello all,

I've noticed since installing an aftermarket Pioneer stereo the sound has been a lot more quiet. I've also noticed there is not as much bass.

I tested changing the settings of the stereo to only play music to the rear speakers and got no sound.

The stereo came with a scosche wiring harness that I wired everything to except an orange? cable I believe it was... Crutchfield told me I didn't need to worry about that wire as it was just the dimmer so it would get brighter when the headlights were on.

I called Crutchfield about this and they said it may be the amplifier and to try connecting the OEM radio, making sure everything is set to center and then try again. I have not done this yet but I'm fairly certain everything was centered.

I recall seeing some other people with no rear audio issues post-installing stereos but could not find any answers.

Thanks!

Hello,
I installed the pioneer AVH-X7800BT this week and used the Metra 70-1789 harness.
I replaced the stock amp so I can not help you there. Make sure your stereo is in standard mode and not network mode if available, but if you have front and rear fader then you are in standard mode.
Just search the forums and you will probably find your answer. Start with the sticky how to install aftermarket radio.

I remember when I had a Pioneer installed by Best Buy they had a Pioneer guide book that said to switch the brown and pink wires in the wiring harness. Possible problem?
