I just purchased a 2007 convertible with 35000 miles on it for $15250. I have a 2004 coupe with 147000 miles on it that I am trying to sell for $5,000.... Anyway, the new crossfire shows that it has a navigation system, but it tells me to insert the cd. The car did not come with a cd or a manual for the navigation system. Can anyone tell me how it works and what I need to do or add and where I can get it?

I thought I would love the new convertible, but the trunk is tiny! Anyone want to buy either one???

If your serious, post it in the 'for sale' section.

Lay down the divider panel for more room.. just have to keep the top up. I got a "copy" of the CD's and purchased a manual off Ebay.. even though it can be downloaded from here.. last week saw complete owners setup including CD's for like 40 bucks on Ebay.. was very tempted.. LOL.

It may be I got that set you mentioned. It was $32 with a buy it now. The seller disclosed that about 30 pages of the back of the owners manual had come loose. It was worth buying just for the navigation CD's. I removed the cover from the manual and cleaned off the loose glue, and then used a hot glue gun to put it back together.

New Nav manuals can still be purchased at Chrysler Tech Authority. Just make sure you get the correct ones, about $16 each plus shipping and handling.
The Student Reference Books and the SRT6 and Convertible specific books have gone. I got some of the last ones.

The brand new Student Reference Book that I have spare will be going onto eBay, as nobody took me up on the offer in the For Sale forum.

Would someone post the link to the download for the NAV disks please? I can't seem to find the D/L. Using "search" doesn't seem to help much as the search return may show a thread, but not where in the actual thread the search word was found. As far as the NAV manual was concerned, having 35 yrs in the printing industry made output of the PDF easy enough and with punch and binding coils, I printed my own. Kudos fore the person responsible for posting the Nav manual....peace

Go to the Documentation Collection where you got the manual and they are under the Option Specific ... heading.
What the heck, East CD, West CD.
Instructions on making your CD's.

You just saved me a lot of time, thanks. Now I'll have time to clean the interior windows and superglue a dash crack before it gets dark. Peace

If you click on the red letters in my post you will go immediately to the CD's and the instructions.
You do not have to go to the CICCI site at all and you certainly do not have to be a member of CICCI to go to the same files on their site.

By the time the download completes after a couple of hours at 56Kbaud and waking up the computer that went to sleep during the long download, I get a corrupted .Ini file that will burn, but the NAV unit wont load it. I did notice in the radios display that it picked up on 6 satellites and 30 almanacs were showing having been loaded. I may try a reset of the unit and hunt for factory disks.

I am on a high speed wireless connection and cannot pinpoint why the server that file is stored on in Calif. was spitting it out so slowly. I have a file that we downloaded from a friends on a disk named XFIRE_USA_0015.1 disk image file 622.343KB . The Nav unit doesn't see the disk. I did reset the Nav. unit It went from wait to GPS ok and the Almanacs went from zero to 30 in about five minutes, the no of satellites displayed was 4. I saw the screen that said nav. unit initializing and never observed any errors. I observed the screen asking to insert the CD which I did and the screen never gave any further prompts leading me to believe that the file was either corrupted or burned incorrectly.

Why don't you ask a member that has a working copy of the East to make a clone CD and send it to you ?
( I would, but I don't have a nav unit )

I got it burned as a proper image copy and it works and I want to thank you again for the pointer to the files. I had to d/l a copy of Imgburn to do it. The Nav unit now works in the rescue srt
