Wiring for Angel Eyes
Hi All
I need to wire up my new Angel eyes (four light rings), But i can not find a way to run the wiring from the dash to the headlamps/engine bay . I was thinking of using the drivers side heated seat switch ( as that one is not working anymore) , So will this switch be suitable & where is the best place to run the wiring ???
Cheers

Hi Taregt
Yes the Angel Eyes are inside my headlamp units & i do want to use them as day time running lights , But i want to be able to switch them off when the main headlamp are switched on , so i was hoping to use this spare switch in the dash ,
Cheers

There is an easy way to do this without going into the cabin. Use a standard 5 pin relay (we refer to them as a bosch relay). Connect your angel eyes to a fused battery source, and run them through the "normal closed" contacts (30 and 87a) of the relay. Splice the coil circuit (85) to your headlight wiring, (86) to ground. I can draw a diagram if you don't understand.
That way when you turn on your headlights, the relay will engage, turning off your angel eyes. You are using the relay to turn off an item rather than turn on an item. You can get them in ranges from 20a to 50amp. Not sure what the angel eyes draw.

HI James1549
Now that would be very cool , So if i only want to turn off the outer rings when the dipped headlamps come on i can only wire the outer rings this way & keep the inner ring turn on all the time
.
Cheers for the help

So, assuming that there may be at least one other member who'd like these DT running lights on theirs, where did you get them, and how did you get them inside the light module?
Andy,
After looking over my directions I need to make one correction. You need to hook up the angel eyes to an "ignition" circuit under the hood. That shouldn't be a problem with the electric box mounted under the hood. If you don't use an "ignition" power source, they will remain on all the time. Sorry about that.
You can connect both sets to the same "ignition" circuit, just have one set bypass the relay to get the effect you are after. Be sure you have them properly fused for protection.

Hi nox1
The rings by themselfs are a very pale blue , But with the respray of the back plate to body colour (RED) , i think its bringing out the blue/purple , They are alittle bit too dark for my liking , But hey this is my first set of Angel Eyes & i can always get the back plate resprayed a different colour , Anyway i had to get the blue as the shop was all out of white , I need to try a few different background colours & see which one gives me the result i was looking for .
Cheers
