New head unit with stock subs
I had Best Buy do my install for my head unit since I didn't have time to do it myself. Now I got a Pioneer DEH-P5000UB and it has sub woofer settings with the head unit which I wanted.
I noticed the stock subs were not hooked up to the unit as I was not able to change the settings. I'm wondering is it even possible to do this?

If I recall correctly you started a thread about these?
Hah to be honest this head unit has some flaws, but it is an upgrade from stock. I'm sure having an Ipod will bring out it's true functionality.
I'm liking the design of the newer models especially the DEH-P7100BT as it has ITunes tagging which is a great feature.
Read up on it here:

I certainly didn't start it-I just did a bit of empirical experimentation to find the value I liked.
PM me-I have a bunch left.

Unfortunately both the subs and the door speakers get thier input from the front left/right speaker wires on the deck. they are split by the amplifier to send low-pass to the subs, and everything else to the doors.
Short of getting a new amplifier, your best bet is to put some capacitors in the doors life the linked post, and then play with your lowest bass settings on the deck.

The inputs to the amp are separate but wired together. You can cut the inputs to the subs and run new wires. I just did it with my new JVC head unit. Works great.
Here is a link to the to the correct inputs on the amp. Many thanks to maxmaximu.

The connector pin number locations can be found in the maintenance manual.

The stock amp in the Crossfire needs 5 volt (car stereo pre-amp) signal level inputs. Your Pioneer has 4 volt pre-amp outputs. It will sound OK, but the maximum volume will be reduced. Not a lot, but some listeners want more. There are pre-amp voltage boosters that install inline, from the car stereo to the stock amp.
By the way, the stock subs sound really good and using the stock amp and subs is definitely worth doing.
Good luck.
