Am seriously considering putting this sub at the top of my XMAS list this year. ha ha. Can't decide, however, whether I want to do a custom box similar to the one above or something more economical that I could transfer to a future car. I'm not really familiar with the enclosure scene; with that being said, is it going to be a drastic difference in sound if I don't have as large of a box as this one? Thanks!

P.S. Would LOVE to see some more pics, as well as those night pics you mentioned.

Did you have to add any highs with this set up or do the factory ones hang with it?

Hey guys, sorry i havent been around to post anything!!! ...

Smokey, i think you have tons of options for your box as the 13.5 shallow is extremely applicable in regards to shapes and sizes of your box.. just meet the air space requirments of the sub (prob found online) and your good on the shape and size!... Sooo mine is a longer but shallow box, while you might want to do something different like a short but deeper box... Both have the same effect with the sub!!! and yes! it is a huge and loud difference in the car! Very cool sub indeed!!! thanks for reminding me about those night pictures, ill be sure to get some in!

Bravada, Yes i went ahead and replaced all my factory speakers (except the two rear 6.5" subs) with JL Tweeters and the Type R Alpine speakers for the doors... I also of course replaced the headunit.... If i had not done this, i do not think i would have nearly enough mids or highs to keep up with the bass.. As it is now, it is a great balance, not so sure what it would be like stock.

if ya'll have more questions dont be shy!

my 12w6 makes that noise, kinda sounds like a wire blew off of the bottom of the speaker? luckily I had the shop that installed everything put in a remote level ****. Even with a cap it does it, only thing else to do is the alternator, but I really don't want to try that on my own. I assume that your lights dim while driving. Even if I keep it in fourth gear, going say 55, you can see the hid's flashing. Good way to get some people to move over out of my way though. chris

There really is not much too it. Just a basic .75 in MDF box with a .25in trim piece made to the contours of the hatch. The trim piece is held down by the woofer and the amps are mounted underneath on a make shift amp rack.

Real simple and clean.
