Default Headlight delay shut off time HELP!

Can anyone help? I would like to change the time the headlights stay on at night after I turn the key off so I can get in the house with some light. The manual says it can be changed by the dealer but they want $40.00 to program the control module and make the change. Can I do this? Is there I can buy to do this? 2008 Roadster. Thanks Ron

You would need a DRB III or a Star scan tool and they're not cheap. Unless you know someone who has one you should just pay the $40.00 to have the dealer do it.

My friend who has an auto repair has the reader that you hook into the car and it reads out stuff like which sensor is bad etc. This might be it. Ron

If it's a DRB III or a StarScan it will work if it's a ODB ll reader it won't work it only reads codes.

Looks like its the wrong unit.
Does anyone know what functions on the Xfire are programmable? I know headlight delay time. Anything else? Is it worth doing any programming to the standard set up?

In my experience, anything that you go to do with a programmer won't work. As far as I know, all programming has to be done with the Star Diagnostics computer, or similar software that can be used on a Mercedes vehicle. A DRB III for a Chrysler probably won't do it.

Mercedes is known for making it a P.I.T.A. to change any of their programming.
