OK in Florida, not so reliable in the frozen north. Not enough storage capacity, weight = power.

I still have an oem battery, not sure how old it is, I bought the car in late September and I've been concerned about needing one. When I saw your post I was curious so I clicked on the link, found the battery for $64.99 - free shipping. So, what's the catch? How long have you had your battery? It's just at that price, it seems too good to be true...

Well I found the battery at Amazon and according to the description, it's to power an audio system...not what I intended to use it for

It's intended for racing - less weight

Needswings sells the same battery as a kit to fit the Xfires. It includes the SAE top post adapters and a custom made battery tie down spacer for around $90, which is very reasonable. I went this route looking to cut weight on the popular belief that every pound shed gains you 1 HP. My car is my daily driver back & forth to work, so it works fine for me. Had it installed since last Nov. and not a lick of problems. There are a few other members who use the same setup.

Another cool thing being done is mounting the battery behind the passenger seat, freeing up the battery tray area for NOX or intercooler installs.

Try this deal I got for my truck ( https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...0cca-sale.html ), it (the coupon code) may still work. $35.00 is quite a discount!

I have the shurikyns in both cars...but keep them maintained... life support so to speak...they won't last as long as a regular battery, but they sure do cut down on the weight...and leave room for other things...
