Default Alarm not working...

Hoping this is the section for this, my car alarm isn't working, hasn't since I bought the car. The doors will lock and all, but I can't get the alarm to sound with the fob. I'm hoping you guys have some answers for me that make me feel ignorant like "Check the fusebox". Im seriously hoping it's that easy. I just don't know how to go about trouble-shooting the alarm. Any help is appreciated guys.

Do you mean to say it won't sound if the PANIC button is pressed, or won't beep to indicate lock/unlock ?
The older alarm units did NOT beep with lock/unlock, 2 cures :
1. replace alarm module with new model ( $$$$$ )
2. wire in the $5 RadioShack piezo-beeper ( this is what I did ) https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ghlight=beeper

To check the alarm, sit in the car, lock it with fob and then open the door from the inside.

180, did what you said, lights flashed and all, but no alarm at all. I guess there is a DIY on how to fix, will have to look.

Alax, I don't want the beep when I lock it, hate advertising that I have something worth breaking into lol

Well I guess the siren is kaput, this is an old post and mentions the siren that also beeps when you lock and unlock the car. Not for you, but maybe someone else.

If it was mine I would check it out by running some battery power through it as per the circuit diagram in the Repair Manual and if it did not work I would try and take it apart. These days this is easier said than done in some cases. When it was apart I would see if anything looked burnt or loose and if I was lucky fix it.

Most likely I would have to buy another one though, faults in these things are not often too obvious to see.

While I was at it I would check to see if power came through the wires at the siren when the alarm was triggered. You never know the alarm may not get the signal to sound.

Appreciate your input man, will start looking at it in the morning. Appears as though it may be an undertaking.
