Default 4 volts vs. 2 volts???

I'm ready to change my HU, mainly because I want built in SiriusXM and also because I'm tired of the stereo not being loud enough with the top down going fast.

I read somewhere else for the stereo to play louder I'd have to get 4 volts preamp voltage in my HU. I want to make sure this absolutely necessary as 4 volt receivers are a decent chunk of change more.

Thanks!

I hope an amp upgrade is on your list of things to do.. "if" I'm not mistaken, 4V is to keep it at factory levels...

The stock infinity hu doesn't have preouts. The hu main-amp outs are wired to the factory amp. In other words, this is high-out to amp wiring. So if you want to use the stock infinity amp it doesn't matter if your new hu has 2 volt, or 4 volt pre-outs.

If you buy a new hu and a new amp i would strongly recommend an after-market hu with 4 volt pre-outs and an amp that can handle that,

Regards
Markus
