I hope your are wiring off the new hu's speaker lead output.. 2.5v RCA is not going to proved a desirable volume peak.

Make sure that the yellow/red power leads are correct. The Crossfire swaps the switched/constant 12 VDC.

Oh, BTW- I almost bought that unit but went with the Pioneer DMR. Just used to way they do things, I suppose.

Amazon.com: Pioneer MVH-X560BT In Dash Single Din Digital Media Receiver with Built In Bluetooth for Handsfree Calling and Audio Streaming and MIXTRAX MVHX560BT: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Pioneer MVH-X560BT In Dash Single Din Digital Media Receiver with Built In Bluetooth for Handsfree Calling and Audio Streaming and MIXTRAX MVHX560BT: Car Electronics

Still in the box, mostly. I'm in the midst of re-doing some other things and it's pretty cold in my garage. Soon...soon...And adding a Kenwood amp for the subs.

thinking about this one:
2014's BEST Deal On Kenwood KMR-D358 Marine Stereo!

I ordered some 250 crossovers and will install them to the fronts just as the "biggest bang for the buck" thread suggests. Those should remove some of the lower frequencies and improve clarity to the highs right?

i should just use the front speaker wires from the new stereo and not the rca's to the factory amp correct?

If i use the sub woofer rca out from the aftermarket unit I should be all set to add another amp correct? (no crossover needed?)

crutchfield says
outputs: 6-channel preamp outputs (2.5-volt front, rear, sub)
on that unit, so yes, use the speaker wires, not the preamps.

I don't know about the subwoofer/crossover stuff.

Correct on all 3 points. This is what I'm in the middle of myself.

I was going to start a thread asking where the most convenient firewall feedthrough is for tapping 12V near the battery. Is there any hole available besides the one for the ECU box wire bundle? I'll (and you should too) be running a separate 8 gauge 12V + to the power distribution block in front of the ECU box, and I haven't looked to see where i'm running it!

There is mention of this in a couple threads.. under the battery tray is a rubber grommet ..leads to right about the carpet edge under the dash..maybe a couple inches higher up. Tied mine straight to the battery.

Oh.. and in the rear.. if you go there..(LOL) is a ground lug on the right wheel well, where you most likely will be pulling wires through anyways..

Remind me to kiss you next time we meet up! Thanks, bud.

And the amp is going under the driver's seat. Roadster. I'll find a good, local ground.
But thanks for thinking for us! Saves wear and tear...

You know I was wondering.. even though the wife is happy with her stereo setup now.. would there be room inside the top storage cavity for the
Infinity BassLink

I just noticed this head unit and it looks to be a perfect match for the silver in the car? I'm seriously considering installing this but I have no idea how to. I've never messed with audio before, so I'm falling on my face here. Could anyone tell me if this head unit would work properly with the infinity amp? And how to go about installing it, please? BTW I already had the newer infinity 6032cf speakers installed and they made the factory head unit sound amazing.

Pulled it up on Crutchfield's.. 2.5 v rca output.. not an issue just mean you will NEED to use the speaker wire leads if you want any volume. You pull the trigger on it.. "We" can get it installed..

I've been searching for a silver decent branded unit for a while now too, that's why I'm curious. This also has USB and aux with everything I'd need. Think I should get it miata?
