Does anyone know where the glove box alarm sensor is located and if it can be bypassed? I have an intermittent alarm and I believe I have narrowed it down to that.

 

There isn't one.

If I open my glove box when the car is locked and not running or occupied the alarm goes off just as it will if the doors are opened from inside when the car is locked and not running or occupied.
There must be an alarm trigger on the glove box in order for this to happen

 

Thanks Valc, maybe the glove box in considered one of the doors? I just can't find any info on where it is.

Thanks, it looks like the sensor may be part of the glove box light switch. I wonder if making sure the light does not come on would bypass the sensor?

 

I wonder if it senses the voltage when the light goes on and if removing the bulb might disable it?

 

It doesn't look like the bulb has anything to do with it. The switch sends a ground to the pump module via the switch.

 

Clearly, James is right. It is indepedant of the light circuit.

I think the switch for the alarm input is in one of the hinges of the door, tho it could be a second set of contacts in the light switch - tho the diagram IMPLIES it is a separate switch.

 

I can see one on the roadster but not on the coupe.
What about the console?

 

I believe there is a sensor on the Console in the ROadsters, seems to me I've set my alarm off that way before.

OPERATION The Glove Box Lamp/Switch contains two separate switches; one for control of the illumination, and the other to sense the glove box door position. Power is supplied through Fuse 31 in the Underhood Accessory Fuse Block for the lamp illumination switch. The Central Locking Pump/Security System Module receives a ground signal from the second switch when the glove box is opened. Neither of these switches can be adjusted or repaired. If faulty, worn, or damaged, the entire Glove Box Lamp/Switch assembly must be replaced. For complete Glove Box Lamp/Switch removal procedures, refer to the Glove Box Lamp/Switch removal procedure in this section.

 

I have similar issue few months ago. My car's alarm sometimes activated in different places without any reasons. I cannot switch off the alarm using the remote key. I opened and closed my car may times but siren still howling. Sometimes silenced after few open/close procedure and sometimes after short ride. I cannot find any regularity of the issue. So finally I did not locked my car on streets. Few weeks ago I red this post and find the schematic here. And Eureka. I remember like few months ago I found that the hook of lock's glove box was loosened. I screwed it immediately but in wrong position (too shallow so the cover of glove box protruded a bit over the surface of dashboard). According to the schematic I found that if you push down the switch of glove box you hear two clicks: first click is switching the lamp and the second click is switching the sensor. So I screwed the hook in right position (deeper inside to the glove box). After that I have hot any issue with the alarm. Probably the loosed hook was directly cause of my problem.
