Default Alarm siren goes off at random

I have read a lot about finding the fault and replacing parts but was wondering if I could simply take out a fuse so the siren would not go on.

I would remove the cowl in front of the windshield and remove the siren. It is leaking battery acid.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am sure you are correct but was hoping to avoid what I consider a major task.

So I decided to try and do as you said...I got a 13 socket and removed the nuts on the wipers and then sprayed PB Blaster on them to loosen them up. I go back in 15 minutes with a big screw driver to pry up the wiper arms. Well no, they lift the whole underneath part with it when I lift up. It looks like I am going to make an appointment with my local repair shop because I cant even get the wiper arms off the car.

Does anyone know if it is ok if I just cut the wires going to the siren? I am not worried about theft but do not want to impact other systems!!

I forgot to mention that the alarm went off 2 times today and both were when we were driving. One time turning off the engine, opening the trunk and hood then temporarily fixed the issue. 15 minutes later the alarm went off again while driving. This time the alarm did not shut off when turning off the ignition. I unlocked, locked, opened and closed both doors after opening the trunk and hood. The alarm stopped so I drove about 35 minutes home without the alarm going on. I am hoping the extra detail might help someone smarter than me figure out the easiest fix or deletion.
Thanks,
Joe

A small puller will remove the wipers. There are detailed videos on U-tube.

You MIGHT have water in the lower portion of the hatch under the foam 'soaking' the modules there. Take something sharp and punch a hole in one or both of the two grommets just rearward of the rear axle shafts (bottom of the bay under the hatch) from under the car to see if there is standing water there (although their may be damage already and no water currently present). Once that module gets soaked, all kinds of problems happen. True the siren battery dies and the alarm module internally shorts, but checking for water in that bay under the hatch just might save you a lot of $ and a never-ending headache. BTW IF you do just cut that siren wire, make sure the battery is disconnected AND you seal (with tape) the ends of the wires in the harness. A short in these cars may do more damage than just blowing a fuse. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the information. I have a rag top. I was trying to limit spending but I just decided not to degrade my car and ordered a new siren from NeedsWings. And I will have my local shop install it.
