Cool Radio cuts out, except for bass!

That's the problem. I can tap the brake, and it comes back, but then everything but the bass randomly cuts out again. All wiring to the amp seems secure, and in fact it played fine when I had the amp "out", but not when driving. Seems like a bad connection somewhere?

I have checked the amp, as much as you can just fiddling with the connection once it's tilted up from under the passenger footrest. Come on, soebody, where's the loose connection I need to fix??

YOur post is not clear. Are you saying you have nothing but "bass" or lows in all six speakers but tapping the brake brings the audio back to normal?

Moved to appropriate forum.

Radio cuts out while driving, but I can still hear bass at low volume. If I tap the brakes, to make the car lurch a bit, whatever is loose reconnects, until it decides to disconnect again. Where to start looking?

I would check the amp under the passenger side floor.

OK it helps to understand how sound systems work. Some of the speakers are for base and some of the speakers handle the midrange and upper ranges. I do know there are two big speakers, one each door that seem be for low frequencies. So the path is as follows: from head unit to amp, left and right audio. The amp breaks out the left and right into the different frequency groups and then to the speakers.

So if you check the connections at the amp, then you need to check the connectors from the AMP to the speakers.

It seems to have almost self-corrected, although I did have to "lurch" the car once to keep the audio functioning correctly. I bet the rain got to some connection or the amp, and thank goodness it's dried out, I suspect.

Might want to check out where any water might be intruding into the wiring (if it is moisture contamination). It'll get a lot worse if you don't correct it (again, if it is moisture/water intrusion). Good luck!
