I forgot the fun I was having!!!
With winter at our doorstep and in some places already here (living down on the lake we have had NO snow on our street yet) my Crossfire has spent the last month pretty much sitting in the garage. I installed Blizzak Run Flats in the event I might need the car on a winters day, but hope to have the car just sit most of the winter. Today it was a dry sunny day so I thought I would use the Crossfire for some errands. Damn, I forgot how much fun that car was to drive!!!! The Blizzaks are surprisingly quite and seem to grip the road nicely, but of course the real test will be ice and snow, which ironically, the car may never see! For those that have NEVER driven their Crossfire in cold winter months, I can tell you the HVAC really pumps out the heat. That combined with the small cabin and the heated seats, you get comfortable quickly.
Two more months and the car is being delivered to Legendary Motorcar - Home of Dream Car Garage for a face lift and added bling. I look forward to seeing the Southern Ontario gang again in the spring and hope to organize a meet of some kind, for no other reason then to spend another day with our Crossfires...

I HATE to drive the Ranger, but it's wet/cold/rainy and besides, it's not like we are gonna ride around together anyway... just meet for dinner.
I really feel for you guys in the "Great White North"... I seem to be able to get out in mine every week or so.
Salt on the roads here only happens about once every three years!
Reading this post and the one about the Tire Sensors reminded me of a couple of things;
I was recently in Discount Tires store location in Surprise Arizona and ordered a set of OEM size Kuhno tires for my Xfire.........they are holding them for me and they will go on the car in January (if I remember the price, it was about $800 and change, out the door price.
Anyways, when I was there, I saw a lot of advertising re Tire Sensors and the idea that they were the 'specialists' in replacement, etc. Now, I didn't get into any discussions with them but I guess I was left with the impression that if I needed any help with this issue, I would probably talk to them in more detail about what they can do, pricing, etc.
The other thing is that I was down at Turbo Sportique yesterday picking my Corvette up after leaving it there for some body/paint work while we were in Arizona; the Corvette has 21year old original paint and the section I needed repaired and painted (I had a tussle with my vehicle lift about 3 years ago) was the mirror and upper half of passenger door..........they did a terrific job on the repair work and matched the paint excellently.
While there, James Gross is working on his fourth front 'fairing' for the Xfire and each time he improves on the structure or design...............my wife was there too and I have put in a good word to Santa..............lets just say that I made it clear that my Xfire was SSB and we are going back to Arizona in January and I thought there would be room in the PT Cruiser for a new 'fairing'.

I propose that we have a GTG in March in Phoenix Arizona; we'll go up to Sedona and then over to Jerome (old mining town in the mountains) for lunch and then back to Phoenix for an evening of social time.
Ya all are welcome.............and we will also hook-up with the south-west Xfire contingent.

Pardon, I was in Florida at the beginning of November but that was a month & half ago; now back in Canada after dropping the Xfire off in Phoenix Arizona.
BTW, the drive over to Phoenix from Florida is about 4-5 days and the section across Texas will take a whole day. See you in Phoenix in March?

The car will have the rear of a Volvo 1800ES grafted on to the rear, the interior will be redone using Grey suede leather, all the glass, including the extra glass down the sides will be tinted The hood will be changed from a rear hinge design to a front hinge design. The new grille will be similar to the 1800 but feature the diagonal bar that we recognize as a Volvo styling feature these days. The bumpers will be replaced with chrome ones that come from the donor car and will meet current Transport Canada regulations. All the silver painted trim remaining will be refinished in chrome. All this chrome certainly adds the bling factor, I wonder why no one has thought of it before. Beaners coffee cup holder will be added inside and his CAI added under the hood.
I have to say that it is quite a major change and should bring a lot of comments from the more conservative forum members.
Personally I have always liked the 1800 series of cars and look forward to seeing this project come to fruition.
Regardless of whether the forum member is conservative or not, this will generate quite the conversation. Wow, in my wildest imagination, I would not have dreamed of a response to my inquiry as to what you posted. I can tell you that I for one will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of this one. I am sure that Legendary Motorcar will create a site to behold. I am still trying to envision a Volvo 1800ES rear end merged with a Crossfire. Even the front end is not that easy to visualize. Tonygg, best of luck to you on this project. My hat is off to those that can think outside the box and dare to do what others cannot imagine.
Wow, I must be one of those 'conservative' forum members because I have no idea what a Volvo 1800ES looks like.
I thought I was being radical when I conceded that a new front 'fairing' from Turbo Sportique would look nice on my Xfire..........of course being functional as well.
One thing I did not read in that description of yours, ONE HUNDRED, was no mention of 'dual exhaust'??

I don't think that I will be letting the cat out of the bag if I tell you what Tony has in mind
BTW, I turned up at our last executive meeting of the CVC (Canadian Volvo Club) in my Crossfire. At the end of the day, we are all "car" folks and the fuss and admiration they had for the Crossfire was really appreciated. In fact, the secretary of the club showed me a diecast of the Crossfire he had and admitted to me that he really wanted to purchase one when they first came out.......
