God bless your son and all that he has done for this great nation. Without Soldiers who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, we would not be able to enjoy lifes pleasures... My best friend is a marine and is touring in Iraq in January, so this is hitting somewhat close to home. I feel heartfelt sorrow for your family and what you must be going through. Your son, Chris Mason, is a true hero of this nation. Chris and your family will always be in our prayers.

I have been home since last November. I served a year in Iraq and made it home safely. It was my second war after serving during Desert Storm. Your son made a sacrifice some will say was for nothing. Time will speak differently. History will see this as important, necessary and heroic. We have had to choose sides. Your son did and he will be remembered for thinking of others before himself. God bless you and yours and thank God for men like your son.

Firebase,

Your patriotism and your love for this country is known by all members of this extended family. Your example is continued in the lives of your children, and this ultimate sacrifice was not only given by Chris, but also by you, your wife, and Garland. I thank you for sharing this personal loss with us and allowing us the opportunity to express our appreciation and respect for Chris' service to all of us. He is our hero, too!

Warmest personal regards,
Mark

I did not want to bring this thread back to the top, but I updated and added a link or two (up at the opening post) for everyone to see. I miss my son... so very much now, and each day it just seems to be tougher, I guess sometimes I feel by posting on the net it is a way I can be with him, I don't know.

You do not need to reply to this thread so it will be allowed to settle back down the list and into history, where it belongs, and not be allowed to sadden a wonderful Crossfire board, I'm sure you all understand what I'm trying to say, and you all know how I can rattle on.

I love all you folks. Hooah.

FirebaseD...

From my Family to your Family, we wish you all the peace needed... We are in awe of the patriotic honor and God loving nature that you and your family project. defending God and Country... SELFLESSLY. And the Morris Family DEEPLY thanks the Mason Family.

I stated that i had made a tribute video for Chris Mason...

I found photos and images of Chris and related to Chris from online and made a slideshow against what I believe is a patriotic & upbeat yet faith-based song (no lyrics).

I have been working on it for the past month... actually since Christmas '06... when I 1st learned of what happened to Chris.

Anyway it is completed however I am having problems uploading it. The last 2 days my DSL service has been at a snail's pace...

I would like to post it on Utube and other various places with your permission... but 1st I would like you to view it.

Do you remember last year when we said in jest that one day we will pull an engine swap with the XF using a tree??? Well Father to Father if you need a tree in NYC... anytime...

I can be reached at 408 750 7588. Email Marquezmorris@yahoo.com

Warm regards to you Brother,

M. Joshua Morris

I've served in the US Army... but we are all brothers with that said... A Marine never dies... Even though as a civilian I can have my politics and disagreements... I appreciate the sacrifice your son has given.

From one ex-serviceman to another, I wish to extend to you my most sincere and heartfelt thanks for producing a son that we can all be proud of. We are humbled by his service, his courage, his sacrifice. I wish that I could, somehow, ease the pain, but there are no words that befit such a task. I can not fathom the devastation that this loss has brought to you and your family. Please know that the love you hold for your son will keep you strong and guide you through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I bring my son's death in the war on terrorism back to the top for an update only (no replies are needed, just trying to share with everyone what is happening in my life now)... I miss my son so very much and my Crossfire just sits, no polishing or washing, no longer laughing or smiling at it with him... what is the value of an automobile, I'm not sure if I would sell this one for a million dollars... hooah.

(Update) - CBS News link to father going to meet with President Bush.
