Has anyone had any or similar thing happen? My 2006 Crossfire Coupe has SLK320 98-99 variance wheels and tires. I bought the car new less than 3 months ago and have less than 5,000 miles on the car. My driver's front wheel lost a huge piece from the inner rim while traveling down the interstate and then of course the piece hit the back rim, bent it and sliced the back tire. Fortunately, I was slowing to take an exit and was not traveling too fast. Has anyone had any similar kind of trouble with these wheels?

 

sux for you. i had a chunk come off one of my wheels but not that brand. i hit a pothole. well goodluck...

 

Did you hit anything recently? I have 50,000 trouble-free miles on mine (rims).

 

What size(s) are your SLK320 98-99 variance wheels? The standard SLK wheels were 16", and the SLK32 AMG sport wheels were 17". The stock Crossifre uses 18" in the front and 19" in the rear. Fitting other sizes is not always simple, and perhaps that contributed to the problem.
