Default Hatch release

Is there a interior release cable or switch on the Crossfire coupe? Mine is not opening from the outside so now I can't get my luggage out of it.

That's what I was afraid of.

I did manage to empty the bags and get everything out, but I'm still screwed when it comes to opening it. Does anyone have a scan of that page in the service manual?

Do the coupes have the emergency release like the roadsters?

If you go to the srt6 forum at the top there's a section listed Documentation Collection you can download the service manual there.

Ok so I checked out the service manual, it seems that you can only fix the latch and associated parts with the hatch open.

Kind of a problem since it's stuck shut. I'm really starting to hate this car . . .

Try pushing down on the outer lip (above the release handle)...someone may have adjusted the bump stops too far and it is keeping it from releasing. Also, use your key fob remote and cycle the lock system a couple of times and see if you can hear it lock/unlock from the back (if not, also apply a little downward pressure and try again). Hope it works.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try (I only tried pulling up).

I can hear it lock/unlock with the key and interior switch, so I don't think it's a electrical/solenoid issue.

BTW, the handle feels like it has no tension on it. Almost like if it was cable operated and the cable snapped (I know it's not cable operated).

Actually, it is pneumatic, and it sounds as if you have a leak in the line that runs to the hatch release. I know there is a lot of talk about it on the MB forums, and I'm trying to remember if there is a TSB on the Crossfire that covers it??? Maybe someone else can help us out here with that one.

Thanks guys, I'll try that too!

I must say, for a relatively obscure car you guys always seem to help people out.

My line went while I was grocery shopping one night. I came out and the hatch wasn't locked and I knew I locked the car because the doors were locked. It sounds like your line broke while the hatch or car was locked. Mine would open but would not lock. the dealer took care of it quickly and I've had no problem since. It is comforting to know the entire locking system is pneumatic.
Good luck with yours - Pat
