Default Dealer try to charge me

I took my car in for the rear end wind...They just called me. Said the fluid was black, and they felt if they changed it, the noise would go away. And I would then have to pay for the fluid.

Also, they want to charge me $125 to put the car on the machine to find out why the check engine light comes on.

I am having a problem with these charges they are trying to get me for. Is there something wrong with me?

Is nothing covered under my warranty, and my extended warranty?

i dont think there is something wrong with you., i also dont like to drop my pants to my knees and bend over just because they tell me to., go to another dealer., that is what i do if i dont like what they tell me., always look for a second opinion.

if you are still under warranty you shouldn't be paying for that stuff.

I am still under warranty, but the service guys keeps saying, that if they drain the black fluid from the rear, and put in new, and the whine stops, it's just a service and I have to pay for the oil.

The check engine light has come on numerous times, and all I have done was open the Gas tank lid and it would go off.

The service guy said, it would go off after three days, and I told him it goes off after three start ups. I hate paying to put it on the machine and find nothing wrong. The cost to find out what "might" be wrong is $125.00. But if they find something wrong, then no charge. I am having a hard time believing anything right now!

New dealer ASAP. Don't go back to that dealership unless you want to get ripped off.

Well I would agree if they change the rear-end fluid and the whine goes away then it would be a service not a warranty, but they shouldn't charge you a dime to put it on the computer if the check engine light is on.

dude the rear diff runs mobil synthetic too and if i remember right isnt scheduled for service till like 75000 miles so if this is premature failure of that lubricant esspecially if your at 40k or less thats warranty anyways.

Well I picked up my car. What a story I got!

First of all, when you pay $100.00 for an oil change, they are showing they check "all" the fluids, and report if they find something wrong. Well I have been telling them for two years that my car had the rear end whine, kept getting told it was my tires. Have new tires now....still the whine....

So, I go and pick it up! They charged me $125.00 for the new fluid for the rear end. Because it was out of the 3yrs/36,000 miles. I have an 04'. So I talked to the service manager and told him that I just had the oiled changed 3 weeks ago, and NO report that that fluid was black.

And they test drove it, and said the whine was gone. So I am thinking great, they don't have to mess with my car. And I guess paying the $125.00 was worth that.

So I get into my car and drive it home, testing it at 70 mph and the whine is still there. I call the service guy that wrote up the repair order. Now keep in mind that the Service Manger told me they would "refund the $125.00" if I was not happy.

So the service guy told me that the shop guys can't drive the car over the speed limit. That they didn't hear the whine at 65.

Tomorrow I will be taking the car back, and I will PUT The service manager in my car, and take him for a very long ride. And he and I will go over 70 mph, and trust me they will refund my money and fix my car!

I kinda think because I am a girl, they think I am stupid, BUT they have met their match with me......

Do not give in. Go to the general manager or owner of the franchise if you don't get any satisfaction from the service manager.
