I don't get it, whats so funny? Why would you rev it in park? I'm talking mostly about people saying that the Xfire can't be dyno run because of this. Is this forum turning into kids hour with all the snide remarks? I'm not a noobie here so if you think I'm trolling guess again.

I'm not trying to be funny! Did I say you were a NOOB? I didn't think so! Did I make snide remarks? No. Did I ask for PROOF of what you claim? Yes.
You asked a question........I gave a response.
Everyone seems to think they can hit 6000RPM anytime they want......it's not true. Basically.......
1. 6200RPM is attainable with BOTH front and rear tires turning.
2. 5000RPM is attainable when ONLY the back tires are turning. (Hence the need for "dyno mode" on the M-B STAR system computer.
3. 4200RPM is attainable when NO tires are turning.....i.e. park or neutral.
This all started with that dork DW DUKE saying you should launch your car from a dead stop with 6000RPM to get a great 0-60 time. I'm telling everyone that launching with anything more than 4000RPM or so with a stock sized tire is going to do nothing but smoke the tires! BTW...I have video to prove it.
So, in conclusion, (without snide remarks....which BTW I didn't do the first post either!) I still say I want to see evidence of someone with ZERO MPH showing on the speedo and 6000RPM showing on the tach!

Re: This whole rev limiter thing, is this only for the 6 speed?
I asked if this applies to both the 6 speed and the automatic. Does it? The dyno part, about not being able to dyno. Auto? 6 speed?
And for your information, when I said take it to rev line I was speaking about when I'm driving, not parked in the driveway. Why would you do that? I have an autostick and when I am driving and floor it I can redline it before it goes to the next gear.

Numbers 1,2,and 3 in my previous post hold true either way. It doesn't matter if you have a stick or an auto!
I've been on a dyno (6M) and had the 5k limit kick in. 10 minutes before me a SRT (auto) had the same thing happen.

Even with the fuses pulled, the traction control off, I believe a little bit of it STILL remains on (and prevents revving it up to those RPMS too)
