Default How to program Beep

Hi, does anyone know how to program the beep when unlocking and locking the car? It would be great to hear it and know the doors are locked. I heard this can be done. Any help would be great. Thanks, Patty

The alarm cannot be programmed to chirp.

However, there are two modifications that can be made that will produce a chirp. One involves replacing a factory part and the other involves incorporating a simple "beeper" into the alarm circuitry. Both seem to be simple mods that you can do yourself. You only need to do one of the mods in order to produce a chirp.

Search for "alarm chirp". Sorry, I do not have the details, but this info will at least get you started.

I put in the Radio Shack (273-060) tone as described here:

It works great. I did place it just outside the fuse box in a small plastic bag for protection. It is louder outside the fuse box.

Is this not a standard feature on these cars? It is with Mercedes products using the same system. When I purchased mine, I noticed it did not "beep" as with most other factory systems. I soon found out that the main alarm horn had failed and the "beeping" feature was restored when I replace the main alarm horn.

In the raintray, between the engine compartment and the windshield. To the right of the windshield wiper motor.

I had problems with my alarm so I took it to chrysler, turns out I had a wire cut and they fixed it after ripping my whole car apart. Anyway when I locked the doors the yellow lights used to flash twice, now they hold for about three seconds, my unlock flash is the same. Point of the story I think chrysler can mess with the settings as far as lights and sound goes, but sound forsure has to be just that, a replacement of the alarm to the new 06 alarm horn.
