Default Reverse Hibernation

I envy you guys up north. I just parked my Crossfire for the summer. I live in Houston and just don't enjoy driving it here in the summer. It's hotter than hell, the sun just bakes the interior and the heat and humidity turn it into a much slower car. I like to leave the exhaust tips sticking out from underneath the car cover as a subtle reminder of what awaits me in the fall.

Now I think this is a first here. Envy the guys up north and reverse hibernation ??
I live near Chicago and have family in Houston and Austin.
I know how hot and uncomfortable it gets but on the other hand I also know how excellent our Crossfire AC works.
I often have to turn the cold/hot ***** to avoid being chilled out of the car when it is hot outside.
Tint all the windows dark and crank the AC and enjoy the summer.

I live in Maryland and drive the car as well as my motorcycle year round. Ridden my bike every month of the year for so long I can't remember. Up here you just have to pick your days from December till the end of February. Bear in mind thought I don't drive either in the rain no matter what month it is.

After 5 years in Fort Myers FL, I can deal with any heat/humidity, even Houston by the channel. I'd just like that much year-round sunshine so I would not have to take the Crossfire off the road at all.

It's also nice to see someone with the fine taste for both a Crossfire and an Audi. Good thing you got the 2.8l because the 2.7T doesn't like extreme heat at all.

That's the bad thing about dark colored cars in Texas. The previous owner of my wife's red coupe put dark window tint on it and she parks in a garage at the office. So, heat is never an issue.

Why don't you either tint the windows or use it for a weekend/leisure car? At least then you can exercise it and still enjoy it.

Yeah, that's what I had heard about the 2.7T. The 2.7T's a sweet set up in cooler climates, though. The Audi is my wife's daily driver and our road trip car.

It's not that I can't handle the heat. I just don't like exposing the car to the blistering sun. It's on 04 and the interior is still cherry. I'm pretty **** about protecting the Xfire. Besides, take a look at my daily driver (pics attached) in the summer and you'll understand why I can do without the Xfire.

Everybody, just try to hide your envy.

I can't find my envy so I guess it is hidden quite well, but I do have a few friends that have owned Celebrity wagons. They had a different paint job.

Please don't put a license plate frame on it that says "My other car is a Crossfire"

You better cover up those Exhaust Tips or Mikey's Mouse might pay you a visit?
Just ask Mike (+fireamx ) about his trials & tribulations!
