Factory 84 months/70,000 miles
Thanks to one of the members for posting the website for comparing Crossfires. Does anyone know if this warranty is transferable? I'm looking at a 2005 which has been through 2 owners and is for sale at a private dealer (not Chrylser).
If it's only available to the second owner from Chrysler, I'll change my search tactics.
PS - I'm referring to the Power Train warranty.

As it was explained to me when I bought my 2005 about 2 months ago - the extended powertrain warranty is not like the 3 yr/36,000 mi warranty - it is only available to the first registered private owner of the vehicle.
My XF wasn't put into service until 2006, and was never sold to a private party, so I was able to get the extended powertrain warranty.

That is very helpful. I bought my roadster new so never had the question; and this warranty does not apply to an SRT6. But it does mean that I need to be the second owner of the next one and pay the $150. I think that's probably a good investment since my son will be driving it and we're planning on getting a 6-speed. I would hope the clutch is covered under power train!

Re: Factory 84 months/70,000 miles
The Powertrain Warranty for the Crossfire has gone through several changes.
2004 model year Crossfires manufactured before 10/1/2003 came with a 7/70 powertrain warranty that was transferable to any subsequent owner automatically and free of charge. Later 2004 models had a warranty that was transferable (by an authorized dealer within 30 days of purchase) to a 2nd owner only for a cost of $150.
All 2005 non-SRT Crossfires came with the same powertrain coverage as the latter part of 2004 - $150 transfer completed by dealer and not applicable to 3rd or subsequent owners. So, if you are the 3rd or later owner of a 2005 Crossfire you would not qualify for the 7/70 warranty.
The 7/70 Powertrain Warranty was discontinued by Chrysler starting with the 2006 model year. However, any new 2006 or more recent Crossfire purchased after 7/27/07 was eligible for the Lifetime oo Powertrain Warranty (non transferable).

Re: Factory 84 months/70,000 miles
I purchased my 2005 Crossfire May 2, 2008. I was the second owner. I did not know anything about a powertrain warranty until I got it home and started looking through the owners manual. Read about the warranty and called the dealer up and said that I wanted to transfer the warranty. Went back a few days later and had that taken care of. $150.00 bucks to do. Well worth the cost!

Your extended warranty you purchased (depending on the level of coverage) should cover everything including the powertrain, much like the new 36/36000 mile warranty does.

Ok Here's the real scoop!
My wife is a consultant and trainer to GM and Chrysler dealers. She trains warranty managers and service managers.
When I bought my 04 with 24,000 miles on it I she had me go to the local dealership and fill out a form. My wife checked a couple of weeks later and the [you can't do this] internal Chrysler web site had the warranty was transfered to me.
The warranty is 70,000 mile powertrain. I haven't had any problems with the car what so ever, in fact this is perhaps the most solid car I have ever owned...and I have owned a lot of cars!
