shapeshifter 309 don't feel bad. By the time I was your age I'd already taken apart and pretty much destroyed brand new ...... 1967 Malibu, 1968 "350" Nova and a 1970 Z-28 Camaro before I learned I was born to drive em, not be a mechanic on them.

Default No Problems - 18K

Well no major problems - did have the headlights replaced free of charge and without any hassle last month. First month I had my AM radio quit - turns out an antenna relay went bad - repaired without hassle - doesn't seem to be a common problem from reading the boards..

Overall this is the most carefree car I have ever owned. One of the most fun also.

36K, just coming off warranty. Bought it with 9 miles on it June 07. Not a single problem. Fogged headlights replaced when new, but otherwise no warranty claims whatsoever. I love this thing.

Going on 36K and not one problem. All I have had to do is change the oil, which is a snap. I love this car. My original intention when I bought it was to store it in the winter, but I am still driving it. Best car I have ever owned hands down.

All maintenance and repair is mine...I will never allow another to touch...

Personally, a "problem" is something similar to your car not starting or dying on the highway or just nickel & diming you to death.
I haven't EVER owned a car that hasn't had one issue or another.
Both Xfires have been darn near trouble free. Preventive maintenance helps. Beyond that, there's only luck and/or fate involved!

Angry My Big X-fire Problem

I'm having a Big Problem with the W/S switch. It doesn't work worth a #*!!. I live at the base of a ski resort and we frequently get a foot or more of snow at a time. ( up to 1000" a year) When this happens and I set the switch to winter (W) the #***!!*# car still won't move. Don't they have snow in Germany? I want to drive this car year round, and a little snow is spoiling my fun. I am very disappointed that the MB engineers couldn't get this right, they could of at least allowed room for 32" Blizzaks. Meanwhile all I can do is gaze longingly at my useless coupe sitting in the garage. Please help me with a fix, my Chrysler dealer has been useless!

thecar is not designed for snow, niether are the tires. if your in winter modes, it really means your in rain mode. you should buy a used pick up or suv.

what does blizzaks mean anyways.?

Quit picking on the Germans. they did invent a solution. It's called a half Track.

SUGGESTION:
Park a Polaris in the garage with your Crossfire. Lower the lights, play some soft music and leave some KY jelly and a pack of smokes on a nightstand.

See what you get next spring!

Blizzaks are winter/snow tires.

You won't notice that much difference in "W" mode other than it starts out in second gear and the gears shift at lower speeds than in the "S" mode. I drive my SRT-6 in the snow with oem size Blizzak LM 25 tires and it drives better in the snow than some other cars I've owned. It sounds like you don't have to much experience driving a sports car in winter weather. What do you have on for tires? If you have the oem summer tires on that's most likely your problem because summer tires are pretty much useless in the snow.

I drive my Crossfire "broken" just about everyday and have been for a long time. For some reason it has a problem fouling out the Mass Airflow Sensor, even with a brand new SLK320 airbox and filters. I've bought several of them and they usually go bad within the first day of installing them. The dealerships say they can't warranty them unless I spend the big bucks for them to install it them self. Even though they scan my car and say it's the MAF still, I think it has to be something else. Maybe an o2 sensor or a fuel problem. The car gets real sluggish as soon as it warms up, and surges real bad and you have to be heavy on the gas to get around. Driving it lightly it only gets about 240 miles to a dead empty tank which compared to people on here seems low. Oddly enough when I feel the tank all the way up it drives much better. Maybe the fuel pump is going. I do love the car, but I admit I've tried trading it in because it's been a nightmare for me, but the resale has dropped so much I can't even get rid of it. I just wish mine was problem free like everyone elses...
