Thanks so much Eric for the recognition. It's truly an honor.

I like the "Nose Job" as do many. You deserve the bow.
That said, I really like what Eric came up with

Besides, I can't take credit for something American Motors did 40 years ago.
i would love to see an exhaust exit right behind the front tires very similar to the SLR McClaren, i have to say that the crossfire is one of the most beautiful cars i have ever laid eyes on, its look is so timeless and i wish i had the talent to draw like that, i wish the states viewed cars as a work of art as the europeans do, they might be able to handle the so-called "out there" designs, i think that the crossfire will go down as one of the most underrated cars of this last decade, im very proud to be an owner
the lines truly are intoxicating to the eye no matter what angle you look from, i have owned mine for a little under a year and still cant stop looking at it, nice work sir, thank you for creating more than just a vehicle, its a work of art.

Old age I guess. But this is a really cool thread and it is really quite an honor Mike
Kudos to you my friend
It says quite a lot also the Eric can check back in from time to time to check on the fans of his Creation and give us some of the little known history of our prized possesions
Now if this dang snow would melt and Spring would get here so I could actually drive my pride and joy I'd be a happy camper
I hope Eric keeps us up to date with his latest creations. Putting investors together to manufacture a car would be a big step. Here in Indiana, we will be getting the company that will produce a police car. We are getting a company that will produce electric cars. Cars were being produced in this state long before Detroit became the center of car production. It would be cool to have your own custom production sports car...maybe there is an old closed down plant with necessary equipment to get started. Would you then have to purchase machinery from the Karmann plant? Sounds like millions to me...
Hi Eric
In first place I congratulate you to go out there with your first sketches…..it takes guts and I respect that. I’m euro and lived for some time in the states…took me some time to figure out the right balance between a good American front grille and the right amount of chrome without flunking a good design.
Usually first ideas are the best ones. On your initial sketches I like the borrowing of louvers and the crossing character lines that made the vehicle stand out from the crowd…..I’m more into the minimalism and suggesting curves of the Maserati Gran Turismo than the Lexus LFA which is a “disjointed collection of scoops, slots, vents and folds…”. I personally will stay clear of hood scoops …..Muscle car Inheritance can play nasty tricks. American design is Frank Lloyd Wright as well… steel & glass……light and nimble.
Cheers!

The "Creator" hasn't dropped in since Oct. of last year, so I assume he's probably pretty busy over at Hyundai.
But here's a cool video of him being interviewed by Car & Driver at the L.A. auto show in 2007.
I hope someday when he comes back to the "States" he has time enough to attend one of our GTG's. It would be a real treat to actually meet him.

Thanks for the great comments, guys!
Sorry I haven't been posting lately, I've been super busy. Some big changes in my life are coming...Let's just say I might be pulling my Crossfire out of storage soon!
I'll keep you posted...

When you say Muscle car I think "big" car. The crossfire is a sports car, and I would hate to see a larger car be badged as a crossfire. If possible let's lose some weight and make the car slightly smaller while continuing to use the 3.2 supercharged V6.
Edit: BTW I vote for Version 2.1, but we can build them all if you want. I'll throw in $100 lol

my wife has been bugging me about going. now if eric were going to attend, then that would seal it for me. and i'd be sure to take some extra copies of keith martin's "sports car market" magazine to educate those non-believers in our community about the virtues of low mileage cars.

As To Mr Stoddard, he has expressed interest but you must consider he works for Hyundai now. In Korea. Although the Crossfire is the redheaded step child of two now divorced corporations, the badge is currently owned by a serious competitor, Fiat.
We shall see.
