One thing it doesn't cover is tire trouble.
So you might as well just buy thr basic service since they wount pay for a tire problrm.

There are so many roadside companies out there, do some looking.
Biggest issue with AAA, is that you are the person covered, not the car. You can use it in any car you are with. But if someone borrows your car, they're screwed unless you go to them.
Your insurance company can provide you roadside also, sometimes it's included for free, check your policy.
The AMA, American Motorcyclist Association, is offering free roadside for your bikes and any of your other vehicles, including RVs, for free with the basic $39/year membership. The only caveat is that you have to use a cc and do automatic renewals.
There's plenty out there to choose from, just do some research and find the one that makes you the most comfortable based on the price/coverage.
Also, carry your own plug kit as many have mentioned. Being stranded for an hour plus is no fun if you can fix it in a few minutes and get going again.

apkano and ppro have some good advice.
As far as rim damage from a flat - these low profile tires are not prone to flying off the rim like their older style and much taller sidewall siblings. In fact before my Xfire I had a 540i with low profile tires that I drove at 60+mph with less than 12lbs pressure from a small leak in a rear tire - felt mushy but not flat - that is one of the reasons why you have TRMS - it is hard to tell if you have low pressure tire pressure till it is real low.

but, my friend just got 2 flats in like 2 weeks on her mustang lol...so stuff like that happens too..
but yeah, if it's $49 a month, i wouldn't join

oooooh well than that's actually a very good deal. $49/year isn't much at all IMO
One other thing to consider is that the standard or base coverage is good for a five mile tow. I had this coverage for years and it was fine but I had an issue on the highway and the vehicle had to be towed thirty miles... Can you say bend over???
I increased to the premium membership explicitly for the increase in towing mileage. I have had to use it twice and the yearly premium has more than payed for itself. IMO this is pretty cheap insurance especially if your on the open road a lot.
I still carry a repair kit and tools. Good luck and stay safe...

I'm looking to buy one soon...and that's really my major turn off. Even though I love the car, safety still comes first!

Sports car - Sports flair - No spare
Little Trunk - no room - for spare
Cross country - not the car for it - no need for a spare
I have a can of slime for the emergency need or as one post stated keep a quick repair kit with you and voila you are on your way!

By flat insurance. AAA. An easy fix. Towed to my favorite garage. I have 2 new rear and 2 new front tires waiting for that occasion at home. I'll drop them off at the garage in my other car.

They also cover up to $5,000 in Bail money if you do it really wrong... NO JOKE!!!
but only on the AAA PLUS service which I have. I think it's about $75 per year. I just renewed it this month.
