NEW Crossfire Emblem Survey
NEW Crossfire Emblem Survey
OK Guys, I need your opinions. I getting ready to produce some new Crossfire emblems and I need additional input.
These will be manufactured in Michigan by a company that already designs automotive and marine emblems. They are high quality decals that apply directly over your factory emblem. They have a seven year UV domed capping, and are slightly raised. The new sets will be front and back ONLY. I have to buy them in bulk and will be limited to only three designs. The target price is $25 for a front and back emblem kit, including shipping.
I am ready to pull the trigger on this project but need help narrowing the enclosed designs down to three. You're input will help me with ordering quantities. Thanks!
I tried working these out with Andrew's printer last month but unfortunately the intricacy of the design did not transfer well. If anyone here is new to the forum Andrew sells both standard and custom emblem sets. They are still the best deal in town, quality product, and he's a great guy also. Andrew's emblems can be found here:

I like the thought behind the design with the xfire concept but in the shots and whenever I see this logo it looks more to me like an x and a feather quill pen. The fire is not that noticable. I dont want to sound like a dissenter but I think I like it and then look at it again and just cant get the fountain pen fether quill out of my mind.
Are you open to revising the design a little more or do they look much different in person?
Just wondering what the mipression will be when they are on the car.
Interested definitely but thought that I would give you my .02 on the design.
Thanks
Nate

I am not a graphics designer so I cannot make a ton of recommendations, but I do have a critical eye so that is why I offered this as a thought.
The part that makes is appear more quill-like is possibly the elongated bottom leg of the x. I will try and do some more detailed looking and give you my opinion if you want.
Thanks

Re: NEW Crossfire Emblem Survey
This helps and i really like the black with the brushed aluminum look!
My only suggestion is to play with thebrush stroke and minimize the tapering of the bottomleg of the x. Almost make it look as if the x has three legs and one is catching on fire. The quill still remains but close up look helps me see the brush stroke effect that you were going for.
I will try and photoshop something to give you a bette idea of what I am thinking.
Nice stuff regardless!

Re: NEW Crossfire Emblem Survey
I tried that design with both baseline serifs and it made the "X" a little too squatty in the oval, a bit too top heavy also. The starting brush stroke balances the top of the design. It's also designed to fill up as much negative space without the Crossfire type. Believe me I spent a lot of time thinking of all the possibilities, probably went through about 50 versions to get these 6. It's more of a stylized version of an "X". But I do appreciate the input. Thanks
Re: NEW Crossfire Emblem Survey
FP - It could be done if I stretched the "X" vertical, the only problem with that is it then lowers where the Crossfire type is located. The two "s -s" have to line-up in the center of the "X" to read correct. It's like a big puzzle, you move one thing and it effects everything else.
